Once again this year, SportsFive will publish, each week, rankings in each class. SportsFive will provide links to the New York State Sportswriters poll and to the Laxpower national polls.

As many teams celebrated the spring break, there were relatively few games last week, but there were some results that led us to make a change in the rankings. To be sure, there will be more telling results in the very full week that is coming up.

CLASS A
There are no changes this week in Class A, although we are looking closely at Pittsford, the only undefeated team in the Section at this point. The Panthers play Thomas this week and when we see how Fairport and Irondequoit play, we will have some common teams data to review in next week's ranking. Thomas will have a big game on Tuesday when they play Pittsford.

Thomas and Penfield They are scheduled to play each other in early May. Both teams appear to be gaining strength as the season progresses.

CLASS B
Churchville-Chili is certainly playing well and with their victory over Brighton this week, we are moving them up to the second position. McQuaid Jesuit split out west, but some credit is given for the quality of their loss and the number of injured players they had to deal with out west. The Knights take it easy in the first part of the week but end up with Canandaigua on Saturday.

CLASS C
There are no changes for the top of Class C this week. Penn Yan continues to turn in better results as the Mustangs and had a good win against Canandaigua last week. Aquinas plays Bath at the end of the week and that give both teams an opportunity.

GAMES THIS WEEK

There are lots of games this week, forty-seven scheduled at this point, and there are games each day through Saturday.

On Monday there are three night games. On Tuesday twelve games are scheduled including Irondequoit at Fairport and Thomas at Pittsford.

On Wednesday, there are five games including Penfield at Orchard Park and Midlakes are Mynderse. Thursday offers eleven games including Fairport at Penn Yan and Canandaigua at Hilton.

On Saturday there are fourteen games scheduled. Churchville-Chili is at Hilton, Canandaigua is at McQuaid Jesuit, Time is at Irondequoit and Bath is at Aquinas.

We bet there will be a few great games among these contests this week. Of course, if your team is playing, IT is the Game of the Week.
