 Wayne Central makes it 37 Teams
Section Five lacrosse grows by one more team as Wayne Central joins the Finger Lakes League in 2012.
The number of Class A teams in the Section increased by one (to 10) with Hilton moving back up from Class B. Class B drops from 11 to 9 with HFL moving down to Class C. Class C grows to 18 teams with addition of Wayne.
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association sets the class structure. Teams whose school census numbers (BEDS figures) are above 1,099 are in Class A. Teams with school populations for 650 to 1,099 are in Class B and teams with less than 650 in their schools are classified into Class C.
