-- Although Irondequoit made a late push, Webster Thomas defeated the Eagles 11-8. The Titans were in control for most of the game, barring a four minute period in the final quarter. Thomas scored eight out of nine goals spanning the first three quarters.

Thomas' early goals were scored during unsettled situations. They scored the first goal during man-up. Brad Hutton took a shot from the outside that was saved by goalie Tyler Nash, but Nash could not control the ball and it was loose in front of the cage. Zach Crawford picked up the loose ball and fired into the back of the net at point blank range. Irondequoit followed with their first goal. Like the Titan goal, Irondequoit's goal was scored during a semi-unsettled situation. Greg Coholan took a shot from the outside that missed thom-ironthe cage. However, instead of going out of bounds, Nick Doktor picked up the ground ball and found Mike Utz open on the crease for the goal. The score was tied at 1-1. Thomas scored the next five goals and eight of the next nine to take control of the game. The second Thomas goal was scored during a fast-break. Kenny Tomeno took the ball from their defensive end all the way to the crease before shooting the ball. The final goal of the first quarter was scored nearly identically to the first Thomas goal. Tomeno took an outside shot that was saved by Nash but this time Jack Hinderland picked up the ground ball and scored. The Titans led 3-1 after the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Titans scored the first three goals before Irondequoit added their goal for the quarter. Thomas kept up the unsettled goals with another fast-break goal. This goal was scored unassisted by Kyle Rothfuss after dodging his defenseman only 0:23 into the quarter. The first goal that was scored in a settled situation was scored by Hinderland. Hinderland drove from the top and shot side-arm into the upper corner for the four goal lead. The fifth unanswered goals from the Titans was scored when Hutton drove down the left side of the field; but instead of shooting, rolled back thom-ironand found John Zawacki across the field open for the goal. The final goal of the game was scored by Irondequoit's Gunnar Miller. Miller scored from the right side of the cage with a feed from Emmy Poccia from goal line extended. The first half concluded with Thomas leading 6-2.

In the third quarter, Thomas kept the pressure up against the Eagles scoring the first three goals to take a 9-2 lead over Irondequoit. Thomas scored again only seconds into the quarter. Rothfuss scored with a hard outside-side arm shot only 0:24 into the quarter. JT Hauck scored his lone goal of the game with a drive from the outside for the titans. Thomas' third goal of the quarter was scored during a fast-break with Hinderland feeding Zawacki. The Titans held the largest lead 9-2 with 3:36 remaining in the third quarter. Irondequoit started their comeback with two goals, one before the end of the quarter. The Eagles scored six of the next seven goals. The last goal of the third quarter was scored during man-up with Doktor assisting Erik Kleehammer with only 0:13 remaining in the quarter. Thomas held a 9-3 lead after three quarters.

In the fourth quarter, the Eagles really stepped up. Although they only got within two goals, they played hard and for a time looked like they might be able to win the game. The Titans however had other things in mind. They kept up the pressure and were able to stop Irondequoit and hold on to their lead. Irondequoit scored the first goal of the quarter with a straight dodge from the top by Utz. Thomas scored their first goal of the quarter when Hinderland drove from behind the game. Irondequoit scored the next four goals spanning a 3:22 period. Each of the four Eagle goals were scored by a different player. The first and fourth goals were assisted by Doktor. The first began when Jordan Napierala thom-ironmissed the cage. Doktor picked up the ball behind the cage and found Miller open for the goal. The second goal came with a straight drive from Ian Brooks. The third goal began with a drive by Doktor from behind the cage; instead of shooting Doktor fed the ball to Poccia who dodged his defenseman for the goal. The fourth and final goal for the Eagles was scored with a outside shot by Greg Coholan with a feed from Doktor during man-up. Irondequoit had brought the game within two goals (10-8) but that was as close as it got. The Titans got the ball back with less than a minute remaining, but instead of holding the ball, they scored with 0:41 remaining. Hinderland took the ball all the way down the field during a clear and found Hutton open for the goal.

The story of the game, came from the goalie play of both Nash for Irondequoit as well as Don Grace for Thomas. Both goalies were stellar. Nash finished with 19 saves (63%) and Grace finished with 18 saves (69%). Both goalies had unbelievable saves and were key components in their team's success. Irondequoit's Nash kept them close and Thomas' Grace kept them in the lead. At the face-off draw, Irondequoit's Justin Buonomo finished at 65% for the Eagles (15/23). Both teams finished the game with 29 ground balls. Leading the charge for Irondequoit was Buonomo with 10; Doktor (4), Utz (4) and Poccia (3) also made contributions.
