Head Coach Jerry Severino (Hamburg - Section Six) who is in charge of the Western Region lacrosse team of this summer's Empire State Games. has announced the tryout procedure for this year's team.
Tryouts for the team will take place in three stages over two days. Players selected move on as follows:
- June 17th initial tryout for WNY (Section Six) residents only at The Nichols School from 5-8 pm.
- June 18th initial tryout for Rochester/Corning residents at Nazareth College from 5-8 pm.
- June 19th second round for all remaining candidates at Nazareth 9-11:30 am.
- June 19th third round for remaining candidates at Nazareth 1-4 pm.
Applicants should register on line at the ESG site. Follow directions regarding completion of form and $10 tryout fee.
Coach Severino requests that everyone register by June 12th.
Applicants must be amateur athletes who are at least 13 years old and 17 years of age or younger as of August 31, 2010 and may be required to produce a birth certificate and/or valid NYS Drivers License or Non-driver ID as proof of age. See the eligibility page for more information.
After a one year absence, the Empire State Games are returning this year in Buffalo from July 21th to July 25th. More information on the games can be found at the NYS Empire State Games page.
