Monroe County D1 and D2 has still not played league games yet, and most of last week's information comes form out-on league play, so there are, once again, very few changes in the rankings. There still is no doubt that Fairport, Canandaigua and Penn Yan below the odds-on favorites in each class, but there are so many games yet to be played.
CLASS A
Churchville-Chili had a challenging week with an overtime win against Penfield but followed by losses to both Schroeder and Brighton. As a result, the Warriors move up a notch. Fairport has big games with Thomas on Tuesday and Churchville-Chili on Thursday. Pittsford will show their talents against Irondequoit and Thomas.
CLASS B
We are keeping the first four teams the same again this week. Canandaigua had large numbers against Gates Chili and Penfield. Irondequoit had a big day against Hilton but surprised many with a 13-4 loss to Fairport. Thomas had a demonstrative win against cross-town Schroeder and continued their undefeated season with a win against Hilton. One team will lose their undefeated record when Thomas meets Fairport this week. Brighton beat C-C in overtime yesterday, a good win for the Barons.
CLASS C
We have added Bloomfield-Honeoye to the Honorable Mention list as the result of win against Geneva early in the week. Most of the games in Class C this week have predictable results, but you never know.
GAMES THIS WEEK
There are thirty-nine games scheduled for this week and a number of good match-ups.
On Tuesday there are a number of match ups. We want to see Fairport vs Thomas and Pittsford vs Irondequoit, but McQuaid Jesuit vs Aquinas will be interesting as well.
On Thursday Churchville-Chili gets another shot at an "East-side" team when they travel to Fairport. Pittsford takes on Thomas at home. Pal-Mac goes to Bloomfield-Honeoye and Livonia is at McQuaid.
On Saturday Canandaigua hosts Corning East and Penn Yan plays Schroeder at McAvoy Park. Aquinas plays at Irondequoit in the afternoon.
Of course, if your team is playing, it is the Game of the Week.
