Once again this year, SportsFive will publish, each week, rankings in each class. SportsFive will continue to publish the New York State Sportswriters poll and will provide links to the Laxpower national polls.

There were very few league games last week and although there were twenty-six games, most were non-league. It the hard to make very many changes with so little information, but still, there were a number of important games played.

CLASS A
We are not making any changes in Class A this week, although there will certainly be some games this week that will make it easier to sort out.

Fairport (2-0) has wins against Brockport and HFL. Pittsford played a good game against Canandaigua last Monday.

Churchville-Chili has games this week with both Schroeder and Penfield which will help to figure out where they belong at the time of the season. Schroeder finishes the week with a game against a tough game with Hamburg that gives them an opportunity to make a statement. Penfield suffered two loss to strong teams and each by one goal.

CLASS B
We are keeping the first four teams the same. Canandaigua had wins against RH and Pittsford while Irondequoit won a close one with Penfield and lost by one goal at the end of the game against Duxbury (MA), last year's Mass State Champion. Thomas also beat Penfield by a goal (in OT) and beat Gates as well. Brighton beat both Greece teams.

CLASS C
We have made changes in the rankings for Class C. Livonia's losses to Midlakes (11-13) and Penn Yan move them down, although we still believe that they can be higher as the season moves forward. Midlakes moves up but we need so see the results of more games. They will get a chance for a statement when the play Geneva this week.

GAMES THIS WEEK
There are forty-two games scheduled for this week and lots of good match-ups.

It's hard to pick a single "Game of the Week", but we want to see how C-C plays Penfield (Tuesday) and Schroeder (Thursday) and how the Webster teams stack up against each other (on Tuesday). We also will be interested in the Fairport-Irondequoit game on Thursday and Geneva vs Midlakes (also on Thursday). On Saturday, Penn Yan - Carthage could be interesting and Churchville plays at Brighton.

Of course, if your team is playing, it is the Game of the Week.
