| April 21, 2009 - Bath won it's first GRALL game since 2004 when the defeated Livonia (8-6). Pal-Mac used two overtime periods for their 11-10 win over Waterloo. Aquinas, Victor, Schroeder, Midlakes, CA and Penn Yan also won games on Tuesday.
Aquinas 11 - McQuaid Jesuit 3
 -- The first time that Aquinas and McQuaid Jesuit met this season Aquinas won by one goal in overtime. This time Aquinas demonstrated their strength with an 11-3 win over McQuaid Jesuit.
Mike Messina was a key player for the Little Irish this afternoon. He finished 6 for 6 at the face-off; led the team with six ground balls as well as leading the team with three goals. He scored the first goal of the game with a drive down the right side of the cage and a hard overhand shot.
McQuaid Jesuit came right back with one of their own less than two minutes later. Chris Barilla (who led the Knights with 1g-1a) scored with an inside cut at GLE. The Little Irish came back with three straight goals before the end of the quarter. Brendon Hall, who finished with two goals, scored with a straight drive from the top of the cage, followed by a similar drive from Messina for his second goal. The fourth Aquinas goal was also scored by Hall, on a fast-break. The Little Irish led 4-1 at the end of the first quarter.
Each team scored one goal in the second quarter. Aquinas' Klay Heston scored the first goal after the ball was checked out of his stick near the crease and then ball ended up in the top right corner. McQuaid Jesuit was then awarded an extra-man opportunity for a push by Sam Torchia. Torchia then expressed his dislike for the call to the official and was given another one minute non-releasable penalty. Barilla came back with an assist on the McQuaid Jesuit goal. Eric Wright scored on the crease with Barilla's pass from behind the cage. This was the only man-up goal for McQuaid Jesuit and the first of four in the entire game. He score was 5-2 at halftime.
Aquinas added two unanswered goals in the third quarter and overall won the second half 6-1. Cameron Corsaro scored the first goal with a drive from behind after a dead ball. Heston added his second goal (which was assisted by Anthony Bianchi) with 2:25 remaining in the third quarter. The goal was scored when the Little Irish were two men up.
The first goal of the fourth quarter was a "team goal" for the Little Irish after an errant pass went into the McQuaid Jesuit goal. McQuaid Jesuit's Mike Crawford added the final McQuaid Jesuit goal from a broken clear. Two of the final three Aquinas goals were scored by Austin Gorman with Messina adding his third goal.
In the cage, Kraig Heston finished with 9 saves for the Little Irish (75%). Ethan Matteson played a majority of the game for the Knights with 12 saves (54%). Pat Sheridan played the final four minutes and only faced one shot on cage which was a goal.
Crawford (4), Tim Caton (3), Walter Rodenhouse (3) and Matteson (3) led in ground balls for the Knights. Joining Messina were Mike Owens (4), Bianchi (3) and Manny Magliocco (3) in the ground ball tally for the Little Irish. Magliocco also had two takes for Aquinas. Rodenhouse led the Knights with two takes as well. At face-off, Dave Mason was 5/9 with Aquinas.

Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit were Barilla (1g-1a), Wright (1g) and Crawford (1g).

Bath 8 - Livonia - 6
-- Bath won it's first GRALL game since 2004 when the defeated Livonia 8-6 at home this afternoon. The Rams took the first quarter 2-1, but the Bulldogs returned for a 3-3 tie at the half. Bath took over in the second half with an extra goal in each of the last two quarters for the win. Sophomore Nick Rossi (4g-3a, 11gbs) led Bath offense to the victory. Goalie Chris Wolfer (10 saves) led the defense which faced a barrage of Livonia transition offense in the first three quarters.
Scoring for Bath were Nick Rossi (4g-3a), Tyler Reed (2g), Drew Wager (1g-2a) and Cole Beebe (1g). Chris Wolfer Had 10s/6ga for the Rams (4-2).
Scoring for Livonia were Wyatt Struble (1g-1a), Mike Donals (2g-1a), Ryan Smith (2g-1a), Matt Girolmo (1g-2a) and Andrew Smith (1a). Justin Becker recorded 7s/8ga for the Bulldogs (6-1).
Pal-Mac 11 - Waterloo 10 2OT
-- Senior Midfielder Greg Kier scored the game winner on a bounce shot to give Pal-Mac an 11-10 double overtime win over visiting Waterloo. The Indians started with a 3-2 first quarter and led at the half 7-5 and the teams tied at nine after three quarters.
Pal-Mac Head Coach Joe Hill reports "Tim Doyle played phenomenal down the stretch stopping four one-on-one opportunities in the first overtime and 10 saves in the combined overtime periods. Tim finished with a career best 26 saves on 36 shots registered on cage."
Scoring for Pal-Mac were Jamie Consler (1a), Edmund Williams (2g), Mike DeMar (3g-3a), Jeff Kier (1g-1a), Greg Kier (2g), Mike Russell (3g-3a) and Ben Reeves (1a).
Scoring for Waterloo were Pete Vacca (1g-1a), Jeff Wadhams (3g-2a), Chance Lowry (3g-1a) and Dylan Chilson (3g). Zach Ramirez had 12s/11ga for the Indians.
Brighton 14 - Batavia 5
 -- Brighton continued its winning ways with a 14-5 victory over visiting Batavia. The Barons started off in the first quarter (2-1) and led at the half 6-3 before scoring six goals in the third quarter, which ended 12-5.
Scoring for Brighton were Steven Cregan (3g-2a), CJ Wool (4g-1a), Max Brauer (3g), Bracket Bourne (2g), Mark Henrichs (1g-1a), Maliek Likely (1g-1a) and Mike Asselin (2a). Kyle Hohmann had 13s/5ga (40 mins) and Jordan Carey added 1s/0ga for the Barons (6-0).
Scoring for Batavia were Kyle Maniace (2g), Joe Muoio (1g-1a), Chip Chapman (1g) and
Will Mulcahy (1g-1a). Theo Hill made 15s/15ga for the Blue Devils.
Victor 9 - Spencerport 3
-- Victor used strong performances in the second and fourth quarters to secure a 9-3 victory over Spencerport. The Blue Devils scored three goals in the second quarter and four goals in the fourth quarter. The Rangers scored one goal in each of the first three quarters.
The game began close with back and forth scoring on the first four goals. Victor's Connor Kimball scored the opening goal with 5:53 remaining (assisted by Dale Mattice). Spencerport's Kyle Mark came back and scored the tying goal before the end of the quarter to keep the score tied at 1-1 at the end of the first quarter.
Colin O'Shea scored his first goal of the game only 0:34 seconds into the second quarter to put the Blue Devils back on top. They remained in the lead until Nick Fischer scored (unassisted) for Spencerport with 5:21 remaining in the half. Victor then added two more goals before the quarter ended to go up 4-2. Mattice and Vince Pettrone scored for the Blue Devils.
Kimball added his second goal in the third quarter with Colin O'Shea assisting. The final Spencerport goal was scored by Rocky Gruttadauria with 6:49 remaining and was the final goal of the third quarter as well. The Blue Devils held Spencerport scoreless in the fourth quarter. Kimball, Colin O'Shea and Pettrone each added another goal with Alex Montemorano adding his lone goal and Trevor O'Shea and Nick Waseleski both adding one assist.
In the cage, Kevin Donnelly played the majority of the game for Victor, finishing with 11 saves (79%). Steve Basil played the final five minutes and made one save. Tyler Laviere played the entire game for the Rangers and had 4 saves.
Scoring for Victor were Dale Mattice (1g-3a), Connor Kimball (3g), Colin O'Shea (2g-1a), Vince Pettrone (2g-1a), Alex Montemorano (1g), Trevor O'Shea (1a) and Nick Waseleski (1a).

Schroeder 13 - Gates Chili 3
-- Webster Schroeder dominated Gates-Chili with a 13-3 win. The Warriors scored the first eleven goals of the contest. The Spartan scored the first goal with 1:46 remaining in the third quarter.
Schroeder had twenty-five players make it into the scorebook. Twenty-one different players were awarded at least one ground ball for the Warriors. Leading in ground balls were Chris Topping (7), Ryan Martin (6), Chad Willmes (4), Pete Noto (4) and Mike Blood (4). Eight different athletes were credited with either a goal or an assist. At face-off Topping was 7/10 and Noto was 6/8. Jason Baetzhold (3), Zack Smith (3), Steven Campaniello (3) and Kyle Eckam (3) led in ground balls for the Spartans.
In the cage, Jason Baetzhold finished with 10 saves for the Spartans. Scott Tota played the first three quarters for the Warriors and finished with 9 saves (82%); Eric Saltrelli played the fourth quarter and finished with 4 saves (80%).
Scoring for Schroeder were Cody Consul (4g-1a), Brett Farrell (3g-1a), Chris Mason (2g-2a), Chad Willmes (1g-2a), Chris Topping (2g), Pete Noto (2a), Johnny Murray (1g) and Vin Barilla (1a).

Midlakes 16 - Newark 6
-- Midlakes was down 7-6 with about ten minutes left in the game and then scored nine unanswered goals for the 16-6 win at Newark.
Scoring for Midlakes were Mike Newland (1g), Matt Barilla (2g-2a), Ben Uveges (3g-2a), Tyler Brooks-Lambert (1g), Nick Judge (4g-1a), Tom Cheney (1g-1a), Travis Bevins (1g), Joe Presher (1g) and Cory Gray (2g). Tucker Jensen had 12s/6ga for the Eagles (4-0).
Scoring for Newark were Luke Hartman (1g), Jack Timerson (1g), R.J. VanDeMortel (1g-1a), John Gonzalez (1g-1a), Cody Skinner (1g) and Tom Santelli (1g), Dominic Camblin had 7s/16ga for the Reds.
Canandaigua 18 - Bloomfield-Honeoye 4
-- Canandaigua wasted no time while taking an 8-1 first quarter to a 15-2 lead by halftime as they coasted to an 18-4 win over host Bloomfield-Honeoye, 18-4. The Braves had fourteen different player on the scorebook and used three goalies in the win.
Scoring for Canandaigua were Marshall Johnson (2g-1a), Eric Schott (1g-1a), Will Johnson (1g-1a), Tanner Scharr (2g-1a), Deven Alves (1g), Brian Scheetz (1g-1a), Michael Reed (1g), Gannon Osborn (2a), Brandon Thomson (2g), Sam Post (1g), Jordan Reals (1g), Adam Knapton (2g-1a), Bryan Peck (2g) and Tom Lacrosse (1g-1a). Nick King played the 1st quarter made 2s/1ga. Anthony DeLeo played the second and third quarters and made 6s/3ga and LaShawn Williams played the last quarter recording 2s/0ga for the Braves, who improve to 4-2.
Scoring for Bloomfield-Honeoye were Ben Cratsley (1g), Zach Hammond (1g), Luke Anderson (1g) and Sean Beaney (1g-1a). Aaron Stevens played in the goal during the first half and had 5s/15ga. Jay Nichols finished the game and had 4s/3ga for the Bombdogs. No report from Bloomfield-Honeoye.
Penn Yan 18 - Mynderse 0
-- Penn Yan had a shut out against Mynderse this afternoon 18-0 at Mustang Field to improved their record to 5-1. The Mustangs used an aggressive defense to slow down Mynderse, who had seven EMOs but the Mustang man down unit kept the Blue Devils from converting. Anthony Luppino led Penn Yan with 5 GBs, while Phil Halsey, Ty Trombley, Duke Chisom, and Adam Trombley each scooped up four.
Scoring for Penn Yan were Preston Maciejewski (2g), Adam Stork (3g), Nate Nichols (2g-2a), Jamil Modafarri (2g-2a), Cole Castle (4g-1a), Matt Osgood (5g-1a), Ty Trombley (1a), Anthony Luppino (1a), and Adam Trombley (5a).
Ethan Kamholtz played 28 minutes in goal for the Mustangs and recorded three saves.
Cody Richardson spent 20 minutes between the pipes and had one save.
Tim Trickler had 12s/15ga in the first half and Brad Dove added 2s/3ga in the second half dor Waterloo.
Orchard Park 14 - Penfield 2
-- Orchard Park (Section VI) won 14/18 face-off's and limited Penfield to a total of twelve shots in their 14-2 victory.
Scoring for Orchard Parks were Jeff Tundo (5g-1a), MIke Moran (3g-3a), Artie Marapesse (4g), Kyle Kaspezyk (1g-1a), Luke Nowakowski (1g), Scott Campbell (1a) and Sean Rimmer (1a) Ryan Cole had 5 saves for the Quakers (6-0).
Scoring for Penfield were Kevin Westcott (1a), Mike Malloy (1g) and Jordan O'Brien (1g). Brady Delpozzo had 15s/14ga and Jamie Soloman had 0s/1ga for Penfield.
