April 16, 2009 -
A scholarship fund has been established in the memory of Jeff Milano-Johnson, the 14 year old varsity lacrosse high school freshman who died while practicing for a lacrosse game in 2007.
The JMJ Fund underwrites the annual scholarship for a Boy's or Girl's lacrosse player from Section V who possesses passion and talents similar to Jeff.
One Section V Girl or Boy High School Senior Lacrosse Player will be awarded a $500 scholarship. The 2008 scholarship winner was Mary Alice Postel from Pittsford NY.
The Section V lacrosse player must demonstrate enthusiasm for life, compassion, perseverance, service to others and creativity (with a touch of goofiness).
Applications and letters of recommendation for the scholarship fund will be accepted up until May 15, 2009.
