updated  - Palmyra-Macedon ended their league season sixth in Finger Lakes Division II with a 3-7 record (6-12 overall). Seeded eighth in the Class C tournament the Raiders lost to ninth seeded Batavia in out-bracket pal-macgame and finished ninth.

The Raiders lost a number of strong players from last season's roster. Steve VanDewalle, Justin Closser, Pete Maklos (FLCC) were all huge losses offensively. The three accounted for 71 goals (60%). Additionally, the loss of Andrew Moak and Matt DeMay will be felt defensively. DeMay, a junior, started last season, but moved to New Jersey during the off season.

Offensively, sophomore Mike Russell returns with 12g-5a (fourth last season) to lead in the offense. Also returning are senior Chris Merritt (7-9) and sophomore Mike DeMar (7-5).

Defensively, is where the Raiders will shine. The return of senior Scott Welch (1st team All County) will help the Raiders both on the field as well as in a leadership role. Sophomore defenseman Pat Russell (1st team All County) also comes back to the roster. With two returning 1st team players, the Raiders defense is already strong. However, also returning between the pipes is goalie senior Tim Doyle. Doyle finished last season with 340 saves (a school record). The combination of Welch, Russell and Doyle will give the Raiders a strong defensive base.

Coach Joe Hill believes, "to be the best one must play the best, and with out of league games against Canandaigua, Penn Yan, Geneva and Livonia, the Red Raiders will have the opportunity to play some of Section Five's Elite teams."
