- Honeoye Falls-Lima ended their league season fourth in Monroe County Division II with a 5-5 record (7-9 overall). Seeded fourth in the Class B tournament the Cougars lost to hflGeneva in the first round and finished as seeded.

Graduation was hard on the Cougars. HFL graduated 16 players from last year's roster and are only returning nine players in total from the 2008 roster. Some of last year's graduating seniors have continued to play lacrosse in college: Zach Whyte (RIT), Matt Lesczynski (RIT), Ian Griffin (Roanoke) and Cade Norris (Naval Academy). Each of these players had a huge impact on last year's team and the influence will be missed this season.

Five of the returning nine players scored points last season. Leading the charge is midfielder Mickey Allan. Allan had 18g-10a last season. The second returning offensive threat is defensive Tyler Burgasser. Burgasser is the key to this year's defense and will be heading to Stevens Tech next spring. Attackman Bryan Gardner (4g-4a) and midfielder Tommy O'Leary (3g-2a) are also returning.

Defensively, Burgasser is the key to HFL's success. Burgasser was named 1st team All County last year and will be defensive leader this season. Coach Todd Morgan writes, "Four of the five seniors on this year's team are defenseman which will hopefully bode well for junior goalie Jay Tallon. We are looking for Jay to have a stand-out year." Tallon finished last season with 159 saves (49%) as a sophomore.

Coach Morgan believes that HFL's success or failure resides in the junior class, "The junior class is a large, athletic group and with three quarters of the team being from this class depending on how the Junior class develops will determine how our season will go."

Coach Morgan is excited about the new league orientation, "This year we have a great schedule with the new league alignment. We are excited about playing teams from Division I." Coach Morgan has scheduled out of league games against McQuaid Jesuit, Corning West, Hamburg, and Scotia-Glennvile.
