- Churchville-Chili ended their league season second in Monroe County Division II with a 8-2 record (10-6 overall). Seeded tenth in the Class A tournament the Saints lost to Fairport in the first round and finished as seeded. With the new league divisional orientation, the Saints have much more competition in Division II this season, however, they are still focused on their goal of winning the division.

chuchville-chiliChurchville-Chili had three big losses from last years roster. Gino Marcello (Keuka) and Sean Kettles (Medaille) both graduated and left the Saints without leading goal scorer and their starting goalie. Damien Pagano, who led the Saints in assists, chose not to come out for the team for his senior year.

Offensively, the Saints will look to senior Keith Preston (1st) at the midfield and Jon Hemink (2nd) in the attack. Preston and Hemink will have to step up if their team is to win this season. The Saints, have a number of strong players returning from last season, Ryan Yunker (2nd) and Alex Pavone return to the attack and Scott Shamp returns to the midfield.

Defensively, the Saints return all three close defenseman. With Kettles graduation, the Saints will look to senior Adam DiFulvio between the pipes. DiFulvio has been on varsity for three years and this year gets his chance to shine. Coach David Childs writes of DiFulvio, "Adam is a gifted leader who has shown tremendous growth since last year."

The biggest problem for the Saints is that they only have 16 players on their roster this season. Although, they have heart and drive, it is difficult to foresee a situation where only 16 players can last an entire game without running out of energy.

With both Victor and Irondequoit joining Division II this season, the Saints are in a much more difficult position to win the division. However, the Saints have demonstrated in the past that they do not give up, and though their team is small, the skills of players have improved. Coach Childs has schedule additional games against Spencerport, Brockport and two games against Aquinas. Coach Child writes, "In order to be the best, you have to beat the best. Respect is earned and that is what motivates us on a daily basis."
