Canandaigua to move to Monroe County in 2010
 -  After being turned down once, the second vote was the charm for Canandaigua Academy as the CAMonroe County Athletic Directors agreed to allow the Braves to become a part of the Monroe County League starting in the 2009-2010 school year, according to a press release on the CA web site.

The agreement is yet to be worked out, but Athletic Director Jim Simmons has been asked to attend a meeting next week to discuss details.

"This is an important step for the future of Canandaigua teams and student-athletes," said Superintendent Don Raw late this morning (January 8, 2009), after the decision was announced. "But perhaps even more importantly, it is a positive step for schools and students across the entire Finger Lakes region."

It is too early to say how lacrosse divisional alignments will be adjusted for the 2010 season, but it would expected that the Braves would play many of the D-1 and D-2 teams.

The move is for all Canandaigua teams, not just lacrosse.
