December 31, 2007 - Victor Central school has been approved for associate membership status and will play in the Monroe
County league starting in the 2008-2009 school year.
"It brings us into a new era,'' Victor Athletic Director David Whitcomb told
James Johnson of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. "It's really a dramatic
change."
Victor currently supports 74 teams (V-JV-MOD) and with 816 high school students
is a Class B team under NYS. Among lacrosse playing teams, Victor is one of
the larger in the Finger Lakes (second to Canandaigua) but will be in the lower
half of the Monroe County teams with only Batavia and HFL sporting smaller
student populations.
The vote, by Monroe County Athletic Directors, was unanimous.
