Players of the Week - April 3, 2006 |
April 3, 2006 - The first Player of the Week awards are
out and the three deserving winners were
selected from a field of fifteen nominees.
The Mike Barnard Sportsman of the Week is
senior attack/midfielder Blane Murray
of Waterloo. Blane not only plays
hard on the field, he is a great sport and
role model. The Awards Committee agrees
as he becomes the first recipient of this
year's sportsmanship award.
The Graphtex Offensive of the Week is awarded
to senior attackman, Pat Reilly
of Fairport. Pat received a number
of nominations last week. He scored seven
goals and an assist in the two games played
last week and was instrumental in Fairport's
comeback that sent them into overtime with
Schroeder and where he scored three goals
and an assist.
The Graphtex Defensive Player of the Week
is awarded to senior goalie,
Dennis Costanza of Schroeder.
Dennis recorded ten saves and allowed only
two goals in his game with HFL and made
twenty saves in his game winner with Fairport.
His clearing work set up a number of fast
break down field goals as well.
The Players
of the Week Page contains reports on
previous winners.
