HILTON
March
18,2006 - Hilton placed 5th in the Monroe
County-2 division last year with a 5-9 record
(5-12 over all). The Cadets were seeded 12th
and finished there in the Class A tournament
after a loss to Irondequoit (14-2).
Six
seniors were lost to graduation including defenseman
Matt Faulks (Merchant Marine) and midfielders Marty
Berke, Mike Bell, Cris Ciaccia and Jason Palmeri.
Also lost was attackman Mitch Richie who has transferred
to McQuaid Jesuit.
New Head Coach Jared Smith takes
over the reigns from Pete Ritchie this year. Returning
are senior Tyler Stiles in the attack, senior Cory
Blackburn and junior Jeff DeLong in midfield, junior
Eli Towner and sophomore Matt Davidson in defense
and junior Aaron Donahey in the goal.
Top newcomers include senior Rob
Colilova in midfield and sophomore Jon Graus in the
attack.
Hilton will play in the MC-2 division
this year but has added games with Penfield and R-H
from MC-1, Pal-Mac from Finger Lakes and several
with MC-3 teams. This should be a building year for
the Cadets, who, with a new coach and a young team
will need time to develop. Their schedule will allow
them a good mix of wins and games that will be a
challenge.
