CHURCHVILLE-CHILI
March
18,2006 - The Saints finished their first
year at varsity with a 6-10 record (over all)
and tied at 4th in the MC-2 league (6-8). Seniors
Brad Gurbacki (face off) and Rich Amundson (defense)
received all league honors.
Seeded 11th in the Class A tournament,
the Saints finished 11th after a loss to Pittsford
(16-2) in the first round.
Nine
seniors graduated at the end of last season. The
loss of Gurbacki and Amundson (Hartford) will be
missed. The midfield also lost Mike Marseglia, Devin
Jessop, Tom Barkolas and Tim Korn. Defensive midfielder
Ben Walence has graduated along with Jared Twigg
in defense and Kyle VanAernum in attack.
Back for the 2006 campaign are
senior goalie Evan Williams, and junior middie Cory
Mee. Also expect junior middie Jamie Englert and
Ben Rossignolo to help. Senior defenseman Brett Hallenbeck
is back and junior attackman Ryan Grogan will return
to the attack. Newcomer Brian Briggs, a junior defenseman
moves up from JV.
The Saints will play in the Monroe
County - 3 division this year, where they belong
while they gain experience. They will win games within
the league and have scheduled some out of league
games that will challenge them and help them to grow.
Churchville-Chili has strong community support, with
a youth program that is growing. The Saints will
open with Spencerport at the end of March.
