Players of the Year - 2005 |
May 27, 2005 - The 2005 Players of the Year awards are out and the
three deserving winners were selected from a field
of forty-four nominees.
The Mike Barnard Sportsman of the Year is senior midfielder
Kyle Jensen of Penn Yan. He is a
three year starting defensive midfielder who does
all the grunt work and rarely gets recognition for
his efforts. He is an outstanding student and a true
gentlemen on and off the field and has a tremendous
work ethic.
The Graphtex Offensive of the Year is awarded to senior
midfielder, Dan Groot of Canandaigua.
A leading scorer in Section Five, Dan has been a multi
year All League player and was selected to the US
Lacrosse All America Team this year. He will attend
Maryland in the fall.
The Graphtex Defensive Player of the Week is awarded
to junior goalie Brian Dell of Penfield.
A major factor in the success of the Penfield team
this season, Brian helped his team to an undefeated
regular season. He was selected to the first team
All League list in MC-1.
