| Players of the Week - #4 |
May 18, 2005 - The week four Player of the Week awards are out and
the three deserving winners were selected from a field
of twenty-six nominees.
The Mike Barnard Sportsman of the Week is junior attackman
Derek Pino of Irondequoit. Each of
the people making the nomination point to Derek's
classy actions and his maturity as an athlete. "He
always handles himself in a first class manner."
The Graphtex Offensive of the Week is awarded to senior
attackman, Mike Ryerson of Brighton.
Although one could have picked almost any of the games
played by Mike, his 6g-1a day vs Spencerport and his
4g-2a day against HF-L are noteworthy. He is one of
the leading point scorers in the Section this season.
The Graphtex Defensive Player of the Week is awarded
to junior goalie Geoff Mayor of Fairport.
Geoff had 31 saves over 3 games for Fairport in key
wins in one goal games and was one of the main reasons
the Raiders won all 3 games.
