Players of the Week - #3 |
May 4, 2005 - The week three Player of the Week awards are out and
the three deserving winners were selected from a field
of twenty-one nominees.
The Mike Barnard Sportsman of the Week is senior midfielder
Kyle Jensen of Penn Yan. He is a
three year starting defensive midfielder who does
all the grunt work and rarely gets recognition for
his efforts. He is an outstanding student and a true
gentlemen on and off the field and has a tremendous
work ethic.
The Graphtex Offensive of the Week is awarded to senior
attackman, Tom Costanza of Webster
Schroeder. Tom led the Warrior attack in wins against
two previously undefeated teams (Hamburg and HF-L).
He also led a furious comeback in their game with
Fairport. During the three games he scored 8 goals
and 8 assists against the State ranked teams.
The Graphtex Defensive Player of the Week is awarded
to senior defenseman Kyle Byron of
Irondequoit. Although always an important part of
the Irondequoit defense, Kyle is being recognized
for his stellar defensive play against Ithaca's outstanding
junior attackman, Brian Welch, who was held scoreless
in Irondequoit's 10-3 win over the Section 4 champions. |
