RUSH-HENRIETTA
Rush-Henrietta went 0-10 against Monroe
County-1 competition but finished 4-14 over all.
Seeded 9th in the Class A Tournament, the Royal Comets beat
McQuaid Jesuit 7-5 before losing to undefeated Canandaigua in the
quarter finals.
Senior midfielder, Joe Malach and senior defenseman, Rafe
Mattingly received 1st team All League honors in MC-1 and
Malach was named an Academic All American.
R-H lost nine seniors to graduation in 2004 including both
Malach (UMBC) and Mattingly (Hobart) along with attackman
Tyler Allen and midfielder
Joe Moore (Alfred State).
Rush-Henrietta had a tough season last year even with two
outstanding players in Malach and Mattingly. They appear to
have some good players in each of the positions and will need
to get the most out of each them as they once again compete
in the MC-1 division.
Brian McShea will return in attack and John Gause and Phil
Gordon return to the midfield. AJ LaLonde returns for the
Royal Comets in the defense and James Lally is back in the
goal. The seniors will be joined by newcomers Tony Henriquez,
Justin Rose and Tim Barth in the midfield and Matt Moran and
Brian Hantzis in attack. Hantzis was a high scoring player
on the JV unit last year.
