-- In the closest contest of the day, fourth seeded Hilton defeated fifth seeded Webster Thomas in overtime 10-9. The Cadets led for the majority of the game but two goals in the final ten seconds of regulation made for an exciting finish. The final goal was scored 2:24 into the first overtime period by senior attackman Jake Montgomery with an assist from junior Derek Richards. The game also began with a goal from Montgomery that was assisted by Richards, two minutes into the contest. Three minutes later, Hilton added the second goal of the game. Thomas kept the game close with their first two goals in the next two minutes. John Zawacki and Troy Crevier scored for the Titans. 0:24 later Thomas tied the game, Richards scored to give Hilton back the lead. Thomas tied the game for the second time at 3-3 with an unassisted goal from Jake Giudice. The quarter ended with the score tied.
In the second quarter, Hilton tried to make a break away. They scored the only three goals of the quarter. Richards, Alex Milliken and freshman Shawn Kimble scored for the Cadets. They led 6-3 going into halftime. Kimble scored his second goal to lead off the third quarter and gave Hilton their largest lead of the game at 7-3. The Cadets looked to be in control of the game, but Webster did not go away quietly. The Titans scored the next two goals to end the third quarter. John Hill scored during a man-up situation and Justin Dibernardo scored during a man-down situation to bring the game back within two goals to end the quarter. Hilton led 7-5 going into the final quarter of regulation.
Thomas kept up the pressure in the final quarter. They scored two quick goals to tie the game. John Hill scored unassisted 1:19 into the quarter. One minute later Justin Bird tied the game with an assist from Giudice. The next seven minutes were back and forth with neither team able to convert. Hilton goalie Jarod Kimble made four saves over the seven minute span to keep Thomas from taking the lead. On their fifth shot on cage with 2:18 remaining, the Titans got one past Kimble. Kevin Hill scored an unassisted goal to give Thomas their first lead of the contest.
The lead was short lived. 0:43 later Hinton tied the game again. Date Giordano took the ball straight to the cage and forced the ball in to tie the game. Hilton won a face off but could not get a shot on cage. The Titans took the ball back and moved it up field. Thomas held the ball and with 0:10 remaining in regulation they made their play to the goal. Kevin Hill scored his second goal to give the Titans the one goal lead. The Titans were looking good, however, Hilton's face off man Harald Juergens had been winning face offs in the fourth quarter. Juergens finished the game 11/20 (55%) and won the last four face offs of the game. Juergens won the draw and picked up his own ground ball. He fed the ball up to Giordano who scored with 0:03 remaining to force overtime.
Thomas won the opening face off of overtime with a technical win. They took the ball down and their shot was wide. The Cadets got the ball back and worked it up field. They took a time out to set up a play. Richards took the ball in and ditched to Montgomery for the goal. Juergens finished with a team leading 10 ground balls for Hilton. Giordano finished the game with 13 shots, five on cage. In the cage, Kimble finished with 11 saves. For Thomas, John Bezek played the majority of the game and recorded four saves. Gulisano finished the game after Bezek was pulled for a penalty and recorded one save. Hilton will continue their tournament play against the top seeded Fairport Red Raiders on Friday.

-- Fifth seeded Victor scored eighteen of the final twenty goals with only two man-up goals from fourth seeded McQuaid Jesuit to break the streak. The Blue Devils won 21-9. McQuaid started off strong, scoring the first three goals and leading 5-1 after the first quarter. However, the Blue Devils slowly fought back in the second and then took over. Of the last four goals from the Knights, three were scored during man-up play. Victor was led in scoring by senior midfielder John Maloney with 4g-2a. With today's six points, Maloney broke both the single season and career points records for Victor. He is currently sitting at 44g-26a (70 points) this season. His career points are 162 (96g-66a) and would be expected to increase in their next game.
Midfielder TJ DiSanto also had a stand out game with 2g-3a. The turnaround for Victor came in the second quarter and was punctuated by a number of impressive goals. The first goal of the second quarter was scored by Max Hill (4g) and assisted by Kyle Haslinger (1g-1a). Hill cut towards the crease and Haslinger slipped the ball between the defense for the goal. Six seconds later Dale Mattice added another goal after running the ball straight at the goal after a technical face off win. Mattice finished 26/32 (81%) at the face off draw. He also finished with seven ground balls. Maloney finished with eight and DiSanto finished with six. The second impressive goal of the turnaround came with 7:53 remaining. Maloney was being face guarded by the Knights and was out the way, near the midfield line. Mitch Rupp (3g-1a) drove from behind the cage to draw the crease defenseman. As he did, Maloney drove towards the crease. With the slide already gone, two men were open on the crease and Maloney grabbed the ball and finished into the net. The third impressive goal was in fact the tying goal. Hill scored with 1:14 remaining to tie the game at 7-7 for the first time since 0-0. Once again Maloney was out of the picture and the teams were playing 5-on-5. DiSanto was sitting behind the cage and hit Hill as he came across the crease for the goal. Victor continued their domination in the second quarter and McQuaid never had a chance to come back. Victor added ten goals between the final two man-up Knight goals.
In the cage for Victor, Chris Saar played the majority of the game and recorded four saves. Saar faced 27 shots with 12 on cage. Troy Dowdle played the final five minutes and did not record a save. McQuaid's scoring was led by Joe Hanna with 3g-1a. Duncan Ayer added 1g-2a for the Knights. Midfielder Jake Merkel led his team in ground balls with seven. In the cage, Pat Sheridan finished with 15 saves. Victor continues on to play top seeded Irondequoit on Friday.

-- The last two goals of the first quarter were scored with less than one minute remaining in the quarter. Canandaigua scored with 0:41 remaining with an unassisted goal from Dan LaCrosse. 0:09 later Spencerport tied the game again. Canandaigua won the face off with Connor Moore picking up his own ground ball. Defenseman TJ Miranda was quick to the stick and stripped the ball from Moore. He looked up field to Levi Basynnski who dodged his man for the goal. The game remained tied 3-3 going into the second quarter.
Canandaigua dominated the second quarter and held off the Rangers to secure the win. The Braves scored five unanswered goals to start off the quarter. Feldman scored his second goal with an assist from Moore. Dave Serron, Taylor Spike, Ben Northrup and Serron each added another goal for the Braves. Canandaigua led 8-3 with 4:45 remaining in the first half. Spencerport's Jeff Nitti (3g) scored the first of his goals with an assist from Miranda to try and stop the bleeding but it was not enough. Twenty seconds later the Braves added another goal. Scharr scored unassisted during man-up. Canandaigua led 9-4 going into halftime.
The Rangers played the stronger second half, and probably three solid quarters, and one bad quarter was not enough to win against a quality opponent like Canandaigua. The type of play demonstrates the experience of Canandaigua. They know how to win and how to play like champions. Spencerport outscored the Braves 3-1 in the third and 1-0 in the fourth but it was not enough to catch up. As the game came down to the fourth quarter, the penalty flags started to fly and Spencerport could not put a run together.
Senior midfielder Seth Miller finished the last game of his career with 14/21 (67%) at the face off draw for Spencerport. He also led his team with 11 ground balls. In the cage for Canandaigua, Michael Cuciti finished with 11 saves. In the cage for the Rangers, Tyler Schweikert finished with 16 recorded saves. The Braves will continue on to the semi final rounds and will play Churchville-Chili (#2) on Friday.
