-- As the 2012 season quickly approaches the Sectional Tournament, there are two games that were played today and two that will be played tomorrow to end the regular season. Today's Penn Yan vs. Thomas game resulted in a victory for Penn Yan, 12-4. Penn Yan held Thomas to one goal until the end of the third quarter which ended with the score 10-2. Penn Yan had 13 players contribute points to the game. The scoring was led by Dylan Yonts (4g-1a), Bradley Voigt (2g-3a), and Ryan Maciejewski (1g-3a). The Mustangs picked up 21 ground balls with midfielders Brandon Grace and Nate Spoor credited with three each. Grace was 6/15 (40%) at the face off draw for Penn Yan and Maciejewski played the entire game between the pipes (4s-4ga).
Four different players scored the four goals for the Titans: Troy Crevier, Justin Bird, Teddy McCabe, and John Hill. Michael Start assisted McCabe's goal. Joe Stacy led Thomas with nine ground balls and Bird had six. Stacey had an impressive day at the face off draw (12/15). The Titans split their goalie time between John Bezek (7s/11ga/43 mins) and Alex Gulisano (0s/1ga/5 mins).

Leading the offensive scoring for the Cougars were Ian Holtby (5g-2a) and Nick Weston (3g-2a). Nick Beniamino played most of the time in the goal for HF-L and recorded 11s (79%). For Whitman, Matt Hey had 2g, Connor Kelly had 1g-1a and Jeffrey Bero added 2a. Merritt Bailey played the whole game in the goal for the Wildcats and made 19s.
