There were three games on Wednesday afternoon. The two Greece teams played with Arc/Oly taking a 16-7 win. East Rochester beat Batavia 12-9 and Mynderse was a 9-7 winner over Bishop Kearney.

  --    Mynderse Academy traveled to Irondequoit this afternoon to play a non-league game against Bishop Kearney. Although Mynderse took an early lead, the Kings returned for a close finish.

Bishop Kearney scored the only goal in the first quarter. Senior offensiveman Andrew Chadwick scored from the right wing after receiving the ball from Mike Flaherty. His bounce shot over Mynderse junior goalie Tim Trickler's stick gave the Kings a 1-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Mynderse came back in the second quarter with two unanswered goals just before the halftime break. Junior middie Aaron Peterman scored an unassisted goal at 1:07 after roll dodging around three Kearney defensive players. With just 0:07 left in the half, junior midfielder Reilly Gamache scored after receiving the ball from long stick defenseman Brody Bently who was clearing the ball for the Blue Devils. Mynderse led at the half 2-1.

There was lots of scoring in the third quarter with Mynderse adding five and Kearney adding three. Junior attackman Tristin Kouwe scored the first goal for Mynderse after Peterman brought the ball down field on a clear and moved the ball cross field to Kouwe for the goal. Bishop Kearney came back after the next face off when senior midfielder Dion McFadden picked up the ground ball and sent it to Chadwick for the score. Kouwe scored again, this time with an outside shot from top left, in man up. His goal was assisted by Hlywa at 8:54. Less than a minute later Kouwe scored again. He scored after dodging two defenders. His goal gave Mynderse a 5-2 lead. The lead was cut by one with a Kearney goal scored by Miller, in transition, with an assist from defenseman Tucker Daddis at 7:10.

The Kings appeared to have scored again with just under three minutes left in the third quarter, but the goal was called back when it was found that the player scoring did not have a mouth guard. He served a one minute non-releasable penalty and Mynderse scored during the penalty when Kouwe scored his fourth in a row after receiving the ball from Peterman. The Blue Devils took a 7-3 lead with a goal at 1:19 by Bently, assisted by Kouwe. Kearney came back with two goals to end the third quarter. Chadwick caught a pass from McFadden for the first goal and less than a minute later he scored again. Chadwick started behind the cage and circled the goal, dodged one and took an inside wrist shot. Mynderse led 7-5 after three quarters.

Both teams scored two goals in the final quarter. Kearney started it off at 9:52 when Bob Link gave the ball to Kyle Kuebler to bring Kearney to within one goal (7-6). Mynderse increased their lead to two goals with a score by Peterman, assisted by Hlywa, with 6:56 left in the game. Kearney kept the pressure up and after gaining possession of the ball scored at 3:52 when Chadwick scored on a feed from Miller. The Kings were once again one goal away from a tie, but the blue Devils capped the victory with another goal by Peterman at 3:01. Mynderse was able to hold the ball to preserve the 9-7 win. 

Arc/Oly 16 - Ath/Ody 7

  --   The battle in Greece pitted the Lighting and the Thunder teams at Arcadia and Arc/Oly was a 16-9 winner in the MC3 league game. The Lightning went right to work, winning the first quarter 6-1. They led at the half 10-4.

Nine different players made the offensive book for Arc/Oly. Topping the list were sophomore Nick Serio and junior Nick Capone who each recorded 1g-3a. Junior attackman Jon Gee scored 3g for the Lightning and senior goalie Shane Trost made 10 saves (59%). The Lightning finish their regular season tomorrow when they host Eastridge.

Juniors Anthony Merola (3g) and Pat Crowe (1g-2a) led the offensive effort for the Thunder who will host Spencerport in their last regular game on Thursday.

  --   East Rochester broke open a 4-4 first quarter tie with four goals in the second quarter on their way to a 12-9 victory over host Batavia this afternoon.

Junior attackman Raymond Shalvoy kept his scoring streak alive with 6g-1a to the lead the Bomber offense. Shalvoy has scored in each of the fifteen games they have played this season and has a total of 50g-16a. Senior attackman Jordan Michele added 4g-2a for East Rochester (9-6) who finish their regular season when they host Bishop Kearney tomorrow night.

Senior attackman Phil Boyd led the offensive book for the Blue Devils with 4g. Batavia heads off to Akron tomorrow for their last regular season game.
