Kevin Randall up for National Award

Randall 2008 A Section Five alumnus is a finalist for a prestigious national award. Notre Dame senior defenseman, Kevin Randall has been selected as a finalist for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award. Randall is an alumnus of Penfield High school, where he was named an Academic All American and AGR Supper 16 selectee in 2008.

In a field of nominees that includes Rob Pannell (Cornell), Steele Stanwick (Virginia) and Joe Cummings (Maryland) among a total of ten, Kevin's resume stands out. With a 3.54 GPA in Civil Engineering he is a member of the National Engineering Honor Society and a two-time Big East Academic All Star. He has tutored students in chemistry and calculus and during breaks has worked with Penfield players. This year he was named a lacrosse captain for Notre Dame,

As a defenseman, Kevin has been a starter in every game over the last two seasons and has earned two monograms for the Irish. The Charlotte Hounds selected him in the seventh round of the Vote Kevin Randal 2012MLL collegiate draft. Check out his "Player Card".

The Lowe's Senior CLASS Award is presented each year to the outstanding senior NCAA Division I Student-Athlete of the Year. The award is given in ten different sports. "CLASS" stands for "Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School".

The award is given to a senior who, playing for a four year Division I school has achieved in both his sport and has contributed to his community.

The winners will be selected by coaches, national media members, and fans. The fan vote counts for one third. For extensive information on the award, visit the Senior CLASS Award web site.
