April 25, 2012 - Senior attackman Wyatt Struble scored the game winner in overtime to give Livonia a 12-11 win over McQuaid Jesuit in GRALL action tonight. Churchville-Chili beat Brockport 8-1 and East Rochester was a 19-4 winner over visiting Batavia.

-- Senior attackman Wyatt Struble scored the game winner in overtime and gave Livonia a 12-11 win over McQuaid Jesuit in GRALL action tonight. Struble, who led his team with 4g-3a scored at the 2:24 mark in the first overtime period.
McQuaid scored first in the contest when Gardy Webber fed Duncan Ayer at 10:34. Livonia took a 2-1 lead after the first quarter on goals by Derek Bishopp and Struble. The Knights stormed back in the second quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs 4-2. Joe Hanna scored on a pass from Alex Paroda from the initial face off, but Livonia came right back with two unassisted goals by Bishopp and Struble. McQuaid then scored three goals in the last four minutes of the half to take a 5-4 halftime lead. Scoring for McQuaid were Jake Merkel (assisted by Webber), Paroda and Ayer, assisted by Hanna who scored with 0:10 left in the half.
In the third quarter Livonia tied the game at 5-5 with a goal by Bishopp, assisted by Struble at 8:35. McQuaid took the lead with a man up goal by Merkel assisted by Hanna, but Livonia tied it again with an unassisted goal by Mitchell Kinney. Then it was McQuaid's turn to go ahead on a goal at 3:19 by Hanna, assisted by Ayer. With less than a minute left in the third quarter Cody Cisco scored with an assist from Struble to tie the game at 7-7.
Both teams scored four goals in the fourth quarter. The Knights scored the first three and Livonia then scored two. McQuaid took a two goal advantage at 3:35 with a man up goal by Paroda, assisted by Ayer. With time running out, the Bulldogs scored their own man up goal at 1:07 when Struble found Josh Wester for a goal. With 0:21 Struble scored with an assist from Wester, sending the game into overtime where Struble scored his game-winning unassisted goal.
Struble finished the game with a team leading 3g-3a and Bishopp added 3g for the Bulldogs. Senior goalie Ethan Jamison recorded 12 saves for Livonia (6-2) who will host East Rochester on Saturday.
Leading the offense for McQuaid were Hanna with 4g-2a, Paroda with 2g-3a and Ayer with 2g-3a. Merkel won 13 of 18 face offs for the Knights (4-4) who will take a road trip to Pennsylvania this weekend for game against Greenburg Catholic and St. Edwards.

-- Churchville-Chili improved their record to 7-1 with their 8-1 victory over visiting Brockport tonight at Roberts Wesleyan College. The Saints scored three unanswered goals in the first quarter and then traded one goal each in the second quarter. After the break, they added four unanswered goals in the third quarter to make the score 8-1. Neither teams scored in the last quarter.
Six players made the offensive book for Churchville-Chili. Leading the list were senior midfielders Nick Gray (4g-2a) and Kevin O`Donnell (2g), Pat Bonafede (2a) and sophomore attackman Trevor Hodgins (1g-1a). Senior Goalie Jack Corcoran played the first three quarters in the goal for the Saints and recorded 5 saves (81%). Sophomore Mike Yehl finished the game and made 3 saves (100%). C-C will host the Greece Thunder tomorrow night.
Sophomore attackman Andy Reed scored for Brockport. Senior goalie Hunter DeLany had the goaltending duties and made six save for the Blue Devils. Brockport plays at Hilton on Friday night.

-- There was a great deal of scoring in East Rochester tonight as the Bombers beat the visiting Batavia Blue Devils 19-3 in non-league action. East Rochester scored five goals in the first quarter and then added five more before the half while holding Batavia to three goals in the half. After the break, the Bombers came out swinging with six unanswered goals in the third and piled on three more in the last quarter.
Leading the offensive charge for East Rochester were Ray Shalvoy with 6g-5a, Darnell Rhodes with 4g-2a and Jake Altman with 3g-2a. Five others made the offensive book. In the cage, East Rochester senior goalie Jonathan Caton posted ten saves (71%). The Bombers (6-1) are scheduled to play on Saturday when they travel to Livonia.
Senior attackman Phil Boyd scored 2g while Tyler Kuhn and Codee Gangarossa each added one more goal for the Blue Devils. Seniors Conor Holvey and Trevor Day and freshman Tyler Fales each added one assist. Freshman goalkeeper Tristan Flint made seven saves and senior goalie James Gomez added two more for Batavia. They will play at Pal-Mac tomorrow.
