-- Churchville-Chili defeated Gates Chili 12-3 this afternoon. The Saints scored the first two goals of the game. Ryan Cosgrove, who led in scoring with 3g-1a, scored the opening goal during man-up. Aaron Buck (2g-1a) assisted the opening score. With 0:11 remaining in the opening quarter, Nolan Jessop scored off an assist from Trevor Hodgins. Churchville-Chili led 2-0 after the first quarter.
Defenseman Steve Hilsdorf scored the first goal for Gates Chili unassisted with 11:34 remaining in the second quarter. Churchville-Chili scored the next 10 goals unanswered. They added six in the second quarter, two in the third and two in the fourth. The Saints had six different players add points during the run. The final two goals of the game were added by the Spartans. Mike Wentworth scored (unassisted) and Joe Caccamise scored during man-up.
The game had 20 penalties with Churchville-Chili scoring on 3/11 and Gates-Chili scoring on 1/9. At the face-off draw, O'Donnell finished 9/12 with all three losses coming off technical fouls. Leading the ground ball count for Churchville-Chili was Kevin O'Donnell with seven. Ryan Cosgrove, Aaron Buck and Nick Bruno added five ground balls each to the Saints tally. In the cage, Jack Corcoran played the entire game and finished with seven saves. For the Spartans, Alex Saavedra and Joe Corona finished with five ground balls each. Tyler Jacobson played three quarters between the pipes and finished with 12 saves (55%). Dylan Dix played the fourth quarter and recorded three saves.

 -- Pittsford and Canandaigua are both well established and well coached teams so when they meet there is always high expectations. Pittsford traveled to Evans Field this afternoon and came away with an 8-4 victory. The game was interesting and contained a number of excellent moments that are more  often associated with mid-season play.
Surprisingly there was no scoring in the first quarter. Although Canandaigua had the majority of offensive time, they were unable to get much volume on the goal. Except for one short excursion onto the Panther side of the field, the Braves had the ball for the first seven minutes of the game. During their time with the ball, they took nine shots and only two reached the cage where Pittsford goalie Luke Loveys made both saves. When Pittsford finally did get some ball time they had six shots and only one was on cage. It was saved by CA junior goalie Michael Cuciti.
Pittsford changed gears in the second quarter, scoring four unanswered goals over the span of the last eight minutes in the half. The first goal came at 8:14. Junior midfielder Steven Ricci on the wing, found senior middie Corey Parke open on the crease for a point-blank shot on Cuciti. For their second goal, the Panthers had senior attackman Jack Lauroesch sweeping out front from the goalie's left. He sent the ball to Ricci, who was set up with Cuciti looking into the sun. Parke scored the third goal from top center and with an extra man advantage and a pass from sophomore attackman Billy Cooper on the right wing. With 0:32 left in the half Parke scored again, this time on  a clear-out from back right. After beating his defender, he faked high and shot low. Pittsford shooting in the second half was markedly improved. They took seven shots and all were on goal. The Panthers went into the halftime break, up 4-0.
Scoring in the third quarter was much closer. Pittsford had three goals on six shots and Canandaigua had two goals on nine. Some of the ball time for the Braves came as the result of a good day for face off specialist Nick Como. The senior midfielder won 8 of 11 face offs for the Braves. Canandaigua scored first, when senior defenseman Brandon Kemp brought the ball down on a fast break clear and sent the ball to senior attackman Dan LaCrosse. The goal, scored at 8:48, was quickly offset by Pittsford's score one minute later. Sophomore attackman Stephen Quinzi threw the ball to Lauroesch who swept left and shot sidearm. Less than a minute later, Ricci scored an unassisted goal for Pittsford driving from the right wing. Less than one minute later, the Panthers scored again when Parke was set up for another isolation drive from behind. At 4:54 in was Canandaigua's turn as Taylor Spike, behind the goal, found Matt Scharr on the right wing for a man up goal. Canandaigua took nine shots in the third quarter and had six on the cage. Loveys made four saves. On the other end of the field, Pittsford took six shots with four on and three in for goals. The quarter ended with Pittsford ahead 7-2.
Como continued to win face offs in the last quarter for the Braves and their offense had seven shots to Pittsford's two. Scharr's unassisted goal for Canandaigua, on a one-on-one drive from the top right, took the score to 7-3. Pittsford answered back, however, with a goal at 8:09 by Quinzi with an assist from Parke. Parke started with the ball and attempted a drive, but was turned away. He then took a couple of steps and turned back hard to find Quinzi cutting toward the goal. Senior attackman Dave Serron ended the scoring with an unassisted goal at 3:31. After driving from behind the cage, Serron was knocked off his feet, but maintained control of the ball and turned for his shot.
The Pittsford defense continues to be a significant help in their team's success. Starting defensemen Derek Jamison, Billy Malone and Nick Panara along with long stick middies, Nino DiPasquale and Cameron Pincus helped limit the interior drives. Their efforts reduced the number of close range shots for Loveys who made eight saves (67%) in today's game. Pittsford is not playing games during the vacation week. Their next game is scheduled for April 17th when they host Webster Schroeder. Canandaigua will play Geneva on Tuesday.

-- Spencerport scored five of the first six goals and never looked back in their 12-7 win over Eastridge. Ten of the twelve Ranger goals were assisted. They had a dominate performance from senior midfielder Seth Miller. Miller finished with 1g-4a, a team leading nine ground balls and 11/18 at the face-off draw (61%). Of his seven losses, three were technical losses.
The game ended with 18 penalties. Spencerport spent 14 minutes in the box. Eastridge converted 3/12 on man-up while the Rangers converted 2/6. Leading in scoring for Spencerport was senior attackman Matt Kaser (3g-3a). Jeff Nitti (2g-2) also contributed. In the cage, Tyler Schweikert finished with 10 saves.
For Eastridge, Coffaro led in scoring with 2g-2a. Ethan Printy finished with a team leading six ground balls. Luke Martello (4) and Anthony Coffaro (3) also added ground balls to the Lancers total. Between the pipes, TJ Ennis finished with 16 saves.

-- Victor tried to keep pace with Fairport, but the Red Raiders offense was just too strong as they won 10-4. Victor scored the first goal of the game with a man-up goal from Roy Young. Young got the ball at GLE from Mitch Rupp. Young finished with 2g-1a for the Blue Devils. Fairport came back and scored the next three goals. Kyle Pendell scored from the top of the crease after a feed from Pat VanBortle. Four minutes later Josh Halter fed Max Gerling from behind the cage. With 0:58 remaining in the opening quarter, Brian Martin stripped the ball on a clear and set up a cross crease pass to Gerling. Fairport led 3-1 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Fairport scored first. VanBortle scored on a fast-break with a feed from Martin. Two minutes later Victor added their second goal. TJ DiSanto drove from behind the cage and forced  the ball into the back of the net. Fairport increased their lead with another goal at 3:32 when, after a series of quick passes, Gerling hit CT Bove across the crease. Fairport led 5-2 at the half.
In the early third quarter, Fairport scored only 0:14 into the quarter. VanBortle drove from the top of the restraining line to score. Also during the goal, Victor was assessed an unnecessary roughness penalty. That did not stop their offense who scored on a face-off fast break with Max Hill scoring, assisted by Young. Fairport scored their next goal man-up (during the same penalty). Derek DeJoe scored with an assist from Jay Vakiener. Fairport added another with a give and go fast-break started by Martin. Martin off-loaded to VanBortle, who gave it back directly in front of the crease. Victor scored the last goal of the quarter with an inside dodge from Young. Fairport led 8-3 after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, Fairport added two more goals and held the Blue Devils scoreless. Martin scored his second goal assisted by VanBortle and Kevin Vaughn scored his lone goal for the Red Raiders. Of note defensively for Fairport, were Keith Mierzwa and Allen Thibodeau. Mierzwa had four ground balls and two takes and Thibodeau had two ground balls and two takes. Goalie Blaze Riorden was also a standout for the Red Raiders. He finished with seven saves (64%) and four interceptions. He also led the team in ground balls with seven.
Victor had success at the face-off draw. Dale Mattice finished 9/14 (64%) and DiSanto finished 3/4. DiSanto was even more impressive on the face-off win. He finished with six ground balls (five off the face-off). Leading in ground balls was midfielder John Maloney with seven. Between the pipes, Chris Saar finished with eight saves.

-- Pal-Mac held Waterloo scoreless in the second quarter to cement their 10-8 win over the Indians. The Red Raiders held control most of the game, but Waterloo made a hard push in the fourth quarter. Pal-Mac was led in scoring by sophomore attackman Ben Reeves (2g-3a).
Waterloo struck first with an unassisted goal from Zarrien Sloan. Sloan finished with 3g-1a for the Indians. Pal-Mac came back with two quick goals within 0:29 seconds. Jacob Bleier and Doug Ellisworth scored for the Red Raiders. Waterloo kept the pressure up tying the game with 3:07 remaining in the opening quarter. Wright assisted Justin Kimple for the tying goal. With 0:07 remaining in the first quarter, Waterloo took back the lead with an unassisted goal from Wright. Waterloo led 3-2 after the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Pal-Mac added three goals and held the Indians scoreless. The Red Raiders had goals from Kyle Ludwig, Reeves and Sean Nolan. Pal-Mac led 5-3 after two quarters. They kept up the scoring in the beginning of the third quarter. They added two more unassisted goals in the beginning of the third quarter. With 2:41 remaining in the quarter, the Red Raiders led 7-3. Sloan scored his second goal of the game with an unassisted drive at 0:12 remaining.
In the fourth quarter, Waterloo scored first with an unassisted goal by Wright. Nolan scored next for Pal-Mac at 10:38. Waterloo's next goal was scored by Kimple. Pal-Mac added their last two goals with 8:14 and 4:56 remaining. They led 10-6 after a third unassisted goal from Nolan. Waterloo scored on a face-off fast-break only 0:10 later with an unassisted goal from attackman Elliott Messmer. The final goal of the game was scored with 1:03 remaining by Sloan.
Tim Wright led the Indians with four ground balls. In the cage for Waterloo, Josh Bailey recorded nine saves. For Pal-Mac, senior Cody Rogers finished with 7 saves.

-- Mynderse came back late in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then scored in the final seconds of the first overtime period to secure the 9-8 win over Wayne. Nick Barbay scored unassisted to win the game with 0:03 remaining in the first overtime period. Overall, the Blue Devils only had three players score goals. With Barbay scoring three, Aaron Peterman scoring five and Sean Anderson scoring the final goal.
Peterman was the key to getting the Blue Devils into overtime. With 2:30 remaining in the final quarter the Eagles held a two goal lead. Peterman scored at 2:30 to bring the game within one goal. With 1:36 remaining Wayne had the ball in the offensive end of the field. Mynderse pressured the ball and got a quick turn over. They set up an offense and Peterman scored again with 0:15 remaining to send the game into overtime. In the cage for Mynderse, Tim Trickler finished with 13 saves.
