-- For the second time in three games, HF-L attempted a late comeback but was stopped. Aquinas came out the victor 11-8 over the Cougars. Much like the Penfield game earlier in the season, Aquinas took an early lead before HF-L fought back in the fourth quarter.
Aquinas scored the first two goals of the game with Pete DiLaura and Jake Vogl each adding one goal. DiLaura was assisted by Vogl. HF-L came back with two of their own before the end of the opening quarter. Nick Weston scored unassisted and then four minutes later assisted Jason Boike. Weston finished with 1g-3a for the Cougars. The score was tied 2-2 at the end of the first quarter.
HF-L took their only lead of the game after scoring the opening goal of the second quarter. Chandler Clarke scored, assisted by Drew Tallon, only 0:19 into the quarter. Aquinas scored the next eight goals unanswered. They held the Cougars scoreless for 23:16 spanning the second and nearly all the third quarter. Aquinas had scoring from five different players in their eight goal stretch. DiLaura and Vogl each added two goals. Alex Bianchi (2g), Billy Lombardi and Joe Snook rounded out the scoring. It was with 0:25 remaining in the third quarter that HF-L finally got back on the scoreboard. Tallon scored, with an assist from Weston. With time expiring, HF-L added another goal with Boike assisting Clarke. Aquinas led 10-5 going into the final quarter.
HF-L added another two goals at 9:03 and 6:44. Tallon scored the first during a man-up situation and then assisted the second to Boike. Off the next face-off, Lombardi picked up his own ground ball and took it to the cage for Aquinas' final goal. HF-L got one more goal in the final minute with Weston assisting Ian Holtby, during another extra-man opportunity. Although HF-L fought back in the final quarter, the eight goal run by Aquinas was too much to overcome.
The game finished with 15 penalties (including three penalties for illegal sticks). Both teams finished with two extra-man goals and Aquinas scored one goal 5-on-5. At the face-off draw, Aquinas finished at 62%. Lombardi was 11/18 and finished with six ground balls. Vogl and defenseman Marc Pettrone led in ground balls for the Little Irish with nine each. For HF-L, defenseman Keanan O'Brien led with eight and defenseman Cassidy Kuhn finished with seven.
In the cage for Aquinas, Erich Wischmeyer played the majority of the game and finished with 11 saves. Andrew Kausch played six seconds of the game during a Wischmeyer penalty and failed to record a save. For HF-L, Nick Beniamino played the entire game and recorded eight saves.

-- The two teams certainly took turns, as Hilton and Spencerport tied the score nine times in their game. But eventually their game was settled in overtime when Spencerport's Ben Tribunella scored on an assist by Seth Miller to give the Rangers a 12-11 victory.
Hilton started the scoring, just 49 seconds into the contest. Senior defenseman Shane Endres cleared the ball full field before sending it to senior attackman Jake Montgomery who went one-on-one with the goalie. The Cadets held the lead for about three minutes when senior middie Jeff Nitti scored his first of his 4g-3a on a drive straight down the middle from the top of the box. After a bit of transition and a lot of ground balls, Hilton went ahead. Junior attackman Dante Giordano's drove from behind the net, scoring an unassisted goal. On the following face off, Spencerport got the ball in man up and scored on a pass from Zach Goodsell to Nitti, for a 2-2 tie. Less than a minute later, the Cadets were in man up and scored on a Derek Richards pass to Mitch Smith. At the 1:00 mark, Hilton scored again, this time on an unassisted goal by senior midfielder Cory Endres. The Rangers cut the two goal lead to one goal when junior attackman Matt Kaser scored on a pass from Nitti with two second left in the quarter. Hilton led at the end of the first quarter 4-3.
Montgomery wasted no time in giving the Cadets a two goal lead, when he received a cross-crease pass from Richards, just 27 seconds into the second quarter. The Rangers, however, came right back with three unanswered goals in a three minute span to give Spencerport a one goal advantage. Nitti drove straight down the left side of the cage for an unassisted goal at 10:24. At 9:47 senior middie Seth Miller scored on a feed from Nitti in a man-up set. Then, also in man up, it was Nitti from Miller to get Spencerport the 6-5 lead. Hilton however answered back with two goals before the half. Cory Endres scored on a drive from the goalie's left at 3:59. Montgomery scored on drive from behind the net at 3:05. The Cadets led at the halftime break 7-6.
At the beginning of the third quarter Spencerport tied the score for the fifth time when Miller took a feed from Nitti and scored at 8:27. It was the Ranger's turn to go ahead, and they did, with a man up goal by Kaser from Miller at 5:36. Kaser broke past his defenseman and caught the well-timed pass from Miller outside the top left box. Hilton earned the sixth tie while man down when they stole the ball in their defensive half of the field and sent the ball down the left side of the field. Montgomery brought the ball down the left side of the field and then passed it across sent the ball cross field to Richards. Richards was unguarded and after faking a low shot, place the ball over Tyler Schweikert's head. On the ensuing face off, the Rangers brought the ball right down the field. After a save by Schweikert, the ball bounced free in front of the cage. Kaser found the ball and popped it into the cage. The Rangers took a 9-8 lead at the end of three quarters.
Hilton tied the game for the seventh time at 11:21 when Montgomery found Giordano. Thirty seconds later Kaser scored an unassisted goal to give Spencerport a 10-9 lead. A minute later Hilton tied the score at 10-10 when Richards drove straight from the top of the box. Giordano broke the tied at 5:57 to put Hilton up 11-10. The Cadets set up a clear-out for Giordano, who beat his defender for the unassisted goal, and the lead for Hilton. Although the coaching staff for the Cadets was preaching "care for the ball", the Rangers were able to get possession and Kaser scored on rising underhand shot from outside. He tied the game for the ninth and last time.
A cross-checking penalty, a minute into the overtime, gave Spencerport a man up opportunity. They only took 23 seconds to set up a pass from Miller to senior midfielder Ben Tribunella for the game winner at 2:29. Miller, who ended the game with 2g-3a also won 15 face offs (81%) for the Rangers.

Greece started out the game with a bang. They scored only 0:18 into the game with an inside feed from Merola to Keenan Mahoney. Two minutes later Brockport scored their first goal. Bill Russell (1g-2a) shot the ball towards the net, it hit a defenseman and fell to the ground. Paul Kysor (3g-1a) then picked up the ball and once again attempted to score. The ball hit the ground in front of the cage and Andy Reed picked up the loose ball. Reed was all alone with the keeper and scored the first goal of the season for Brockport. Brockport kept up the pressure, scoring their next goal only 0:19 later. Kysor scored with an assist from Nicholas Piano. Three minutes later during a 5-on-5 situation Benjamin Madafferi scored with an assist from Russell. With 6:42 remaining in the opening quarter the Blue Devils led 3-1. Thunder scored their second goal during man-up with Merola scoring assisted by Joe Angello. The final goal of the quarter was also scored during man-up with Russell feeding Kysor. In the second quarter, the penalties kept coming and Greece added their third goal during another man-up attempt. Merola scored with a drive straight to the goal that the Blue Devil defense could not stop. 0:38 later and the Thunder tied the game. Anthony Crawford fed Merola as he came across the top of the crease. Merola finished the goal behind his back. At the half, the score was tied 4-4.
Brockport came out strong early in the third quarter. They scored both their goals within the first 1:13. Their first goal was another loose ball on the crease with Nikko Nolletti coming up with the ball and the goal. Kysor scored his third goal with another unassisted drive at the cage. Greece was patient and scored the final two goals of the quarter to keep the game close. Merola and Crawford hooked up for both goals. The scoring for the two goals was nearly identical with Crawford feeding from the left side to a cutting Merola. The score was again tied after three quarters (6-6).
In the fourth quarter, Brockport held the Thunder scoreless and tacked on two of their own. They took the lead during a broken clear. Piano did all the hard work, stealing the ball, and was rewarded with a goal. With 10:44 remaining in the game the Blue Devils slowed the ball down. Although Greece had a number of attempts on offense they could not finish. They took nine shots in the fourth quarter with five on the cage. Goalie Hunter DeLany had an impressive quarter (and game). He finished with 17 saves overall (74%). With 1:53 remaining, Brockport called a time out and attempted to run the clock down. They scored with 0:23 remaining during another man-up situation.
