Tuesday: Nine Games and a Half |
May 11, 2004 - It cost Livonia a long bus ride for a 17 minute "game" as they finished yesterday's game at Bath which was halted at 12-4 in the third quarter due to an electrical storm.
When the game was suspended yesterday, Livonia was in a commanding lead, 12-4 with about five minutes left in the third quarter. When the game restarted today, Bath outscored the Rams 8-3, but Livonia ended up winning 15-12."We feel fortunate to have come out on the winning end of the deal," said Coach Sciera, " That bus ride down there is a killer."
Livonia's scoring was led by junior midfielder, Josh Hendrickson with 7g-1a and senior attackman, Pat Wahl with 2g-5a. Livonia improves to 8-6.
Bath saw goals from junior middies, Jeremy Sutfin (6g-2a) and Ritchie Zajac (1g-2a) and junior attackman, Liam Glover (1g--2a). Senior middie, Brandon Smith added 1g-2a and senior defenseman, Corey Storm who was moved to attack due to sickness of a starting attackman scored 2g-1a for Bath (5-10).
Host Webster Thomas started the first quarter with 5 unanswered goals on their way to a win over Hilton, 12-7. The Titan's sophomore attackman, Kevin Kemp registered five points in the first quarter as he figured in all five goals. In the second quarter, Hilton came back with the efforts of their 8th grade-senior combo of Mitch Ritchie and Tyler Endres as they combined for four goals while the defense held the Titans to 1g. The half ended with Webster up 6-4 and in the third quarter each team scored two goals. Thomas scored 4 goals to Hilton's 3 in the final quarter.
Scoring for Hilton were Endres (4g-1a), Ryan Eastman (1g-2a), Ritchie (2 g), Joe Schlonski (1g) and Tyler Stiles (1g). Hilton drops to 4-10 while Thomas moves to 9-6.
Honeoye Falls-Lima boosted its record to 10-3 with a 13-11 win over host Brighton. Scoring for the Cougars were Mike Cintineo and David Uzialko with 4g each and Erich Dehm (3g-1a). John Cintineo (1g- 2a), Dan Layfield (3a) and Jeff Price (1g-1a) scored goals while Rocky Pugliese and Chris Stanton each added an assist. Junior goalie, Mike Brisbane recorded 14s for the Cougars.
Brighton had goals from Zach Davis (3g), Spencer Durland (2g), James Ryan (2g-1a) and Mike Ryerson (2g). Robbie Asselin and Colin Davis each added a goal for Brighton (7-7). [No report from Brighton.]
Pittsford scored the first goal at 10:30 in the first quarter, but at 4:48, Penfield returned with 3 unanswered goals in less than two minutes and never looked back in their 13-5 win at Penfield.
Sophomore midfielder, Kelly McKenna led the Patriots with 3g-2a and junior attackman, Trevor Rice added 2g-1a. Senior attackman, Kevin McGuigan scored 2g and Mike Arvan recorded 1g-3a. Four others scored a goal, including Tim Pfeffer (1g-1a), Mike Thon (1g-1a), Dennis Bell, and AJ Civalier. Jason Knerr and Jeff Sutherland recorded assists for Penfield. Sophomore goalie, Brain Dell recorded 12s and Mike Thon won 11/13 faceoffs for the Patriots (14-0).
Junior attackman, Jake Boyce scored the first four goals for Pittsford and assisted on the fifth goal, scored by Pat Kendricks. Junior goalie, Steve Mathews recorded 12 saves for Pittsford (8-5). [No report from Pittsford.]
Victor stunned Penn Yan with a 7-5 home victory on Tuesday. Victor scored the first 3 goals and led at end of the first quarter, 3-0. Penn Yan came back in the second quarter and the half ended with the Blue Devils up 4-3. Victor added 3 more in the third while the Mustangs came back with 2 in the second
half.
Scoring for Victor were Chris Potter(4g-1a), Cory Benulis(2g), Mike Burns(2a), Kyle Sullivan(2a) and Kyle Rogemoser(1g). Senior goalie, Andy Bowerman who recorded 17s also added an assist for the Blue Devils. Sophomore defenseman, Pat Sullivan held premier junior attackman, John VanHouten

Waterloo beat Pal-Mac, 13-3 as seniors Dave Osborne (6g-1a) and Mike Strohm (1-11) ended their regular season home game and clinched the Finger Lakes D2 first championship. Josh Mateo contributed 2g while seniors, Nate Boyd and Andy Bennett were among five Indians with one goal each. Pete Wadhams led the defensive unit and goalie Pat DeBolt made six saves for Waterloo (11-3).

Geneva was victorious in their game against Newark, 14-8, held at McCooey Field on the campus of Hobart and WIlliam Smith College. Freshman attack-man, Greg Bonney scored 4g-1a and senior attackman, Luke Bonney added 2g-1a while junior middie, Matt Warner recorded 1g-2a for the Panthers. Junior middie, Carson Poole and senior middie, Dan Rago each scored 2g and Henry Heaton registered 1g-1a for Geneva (7-7).
Senior midfielder, Mychal Wilkes (3g-2a) and senior attackmen, Nathan Colon (2g, 2a) and Dave Renner scored (1g-1a) for the Reds. Sophomore goalie Anthony Cole made 17s for Newark (4-9). [No eport from Newark.]
It was Fairport over host, Rush-Henrietta, 17-5 as thirteen different Raiders made the scorebook, led by Mike Danylyshyn (5g-1a), Pat VanHall (3g-2a) and Pat Reilly (2g-1a). Anthony DiMarsico scored 2g while Pete Gibbons, Ryan Lowe and Jeff Sanna each added 2a.
