Fairport defeated Churchville-Chili 20-7 in a Monroe County divisional crossover match.
Fairport won three quarters, while CC won the third quarter 3-2.
Fairport started out with the first goal of the game when Aaron Jones ran straight
towards the cage and used a bounce shot to beat Sean Kettles in the cage. Kettles
was 4s/5ga in the first quarter, but was 1s/10ga in the second quarter. The
Saints scored the next two goals when David Peck scored (assisted by Gino Marcello)
with a shot from the crease. Peck has taken four shots this season and on each
shot has scored a goal. Ryan Yunker scored the next goal for the Saints with
a drive from the sideline. The Saints led 2-1 but the Red Raiders scored the
next four goals to take a 5-2 lead after the first quarter.
The Saints scored the first goal of the second quarter in an attempt to bring
the game back under control. The Red Raiders kept up the pressure and scored
the next 10 goals to finished the half with a twelve goal lead (15-3).
In the second half, the Red Raiders put in some of their reserves, including
goalie Thomas Gropp at the start the quarter. The second half was a much closer
battle with Fairport winning 5-4. CC scored the first goal of the quarter during
Man Down, when Gino Marcello drove from the sideline after a clear. CC continued
their scoring when, after a 20 second failed clear by Fairport, the Saints
pushed the ball up quickly and Damien Pagano found Jon Hemink for another goal.

and then dribbled into the cage. Brendan Saylor scored the next goal with a
feed from Jones to the crease during an EMO. The Saints goalie, Adam Difulvio,

on man-up (on six opportunities) and demonstrated overall that their high powered
offense was no match for the Saint defense. Churchville-Chili played strong,
but it was obvious that although they are getting stronger every season, they
are still no match for the top of MC-1. With continued work the Saints will
eventually challenge the top teams and demonstrate that a new program can become
competitive with hard work and dedication.
