hard shot into the top left corner. Trombley scored his last goal at 8:15,
but assisted on the next next three, scored by Wilbur (2) and Castle.
Victor
certainly had opportunities and a number of shots, but many were off the cage
or were from a distance that was within the reach of Ethan Kamholtz (7s/4ga).
Penn Yan , on the other hand, in offense had many crisp passes for shots and
on defense was very aggressive, going after every ground ball and winning many.
Scoring

Owen (1a), Minor (1g), Modafarri (1g), Dyer (1a), Wilber (3g) and Linnan (1g).

Schroeder 8 - Churchville-Chili 6
Both
Webster Schroeder and Churchville-Chili were determined to win their game this
afternoon, each for different reasons. Schroeder ended up on top, but not without
having to fight off the resolute Saints. The Warriors came into the game looking
for their first win of the season and the Saints came in looking for their
first win ever over a Division-1 program.
Ryan Yunker (assisted by Gino Marcello) scored the first goal of the game less
than one minute into the game. The Warriors, however, using Mike Tota, Nick
Mooney and Joe Matison (all seniors) scored three unassisted goals to moved
Schroeder into the lead after the first quarter. That two goal lead was the
difference as the Saints played the Warriors to a tie for the next three quarters.
Two players scored their first Varsity goal of their careers in this game.
Schroeder's junior, Chris Mason and Churchville-Chili freshman, Scott Shamp
both scored their first goals.
In the cage, Scott Tota finished with 5s/6ga for the Warriors while Sean Kettles
finished with 7s/8ga for the Saints.
Gino Marcello led all scorers with 3g-1a. Marcello showed his strength scoring
when the Saints needed him. Yunker finished with 2g-1a. Scott Shamp (1g) and
Jeff Langschwager (1a) rounded out the scoring for the Saints.
Schroeder looked all over their roster for scoring. Mike Tota finished with
2g and Chris Mason with 1g-1a. Other than those two, five players had single
goals (Mark Saltrelli, Mark Butto, Nick Mooney, Joe Matison and Chris Topping)
and one with a single assist (Billy Harris).
As is obvious any time two people watch the "favored" game, different eyes
see different things. With that in mind, we have linked two pdfs for this game
that show slightly different data, as submitted by Churchville-Chili and Webster
Schroeder.

day and finished the game 18/23 (78%) at the face-off and won numerous key
possessions for the Raiders, getting them the ball when it was necessary (especially
early on). Lehmann said "we played well and I am glad that we won." He

However the Raiders were too strong even as Hinderland, Scalzo and Billy Gurowski

Caton scored during a 5-on-5 play. The first quarter ended tied 1-1.
The Second quarter was controlled by McQuaid Jesuit, who outscored the Little Irish

EMO as Jeff MacDonald and JD Ayer hooked up on an inside feed. The first full
strength goal of the night for McQuaid Jesuit was scored when Caton pulled the ball
out and ran an arc along the top of the restraining line and put the ball off
stick-side past Aquinas goalie Kraig Heston who finished the game with 10s/7ga
(59%).
Aquinas scored the next goal only 0:11 seconds later as Casey Vogl won the

for the goal. The third ended with the Little Irish down two goals.
Aquinas
scored the only two goals of the fourth quarter with Mike Gray scoring (unassisted)
and Gorman scoring (assisted by Vogl). The Little Irish fought back hard to
take the game into overtime.
As overtime started, Vogl won the
face-off but the Little Irish could not get a shot off before turning the ball
over. After clearing the ball, the Knights gave the ball to Ritchie who took
two runs at the cage, missing both times. Caton was then subbed back into the
game and given the ball. After taking one run at the cage (missed) he asked
Coach Jordan for another chance, "I
missed the first time, but I told Coach I wanted one more [chance]." Caton
scored with 1:23 remaining in the first overtime to give the Knights the win.
In the cage for the Knights Dan Caufield played well finishing the game with
19s/6ga (76%). Caufield's first quarter was especially strong as he finished
the first with 10s/1ga (91%).
As usual with the Little Irish thus far this season,
they out shot their opponents (48-32) and won the gb battle (29-23). Against
strong competition and close games giving the Knights four EMO to work with
hurt the Little Irish.
