NYS Western Regionals to Section V |
June 5, 2007 - Section Five teams won their games against Buffalo today and will advance to play Section Three teams on Thursday at St. John Fisher College. Geneva was an 18-10 winner over Hamburg and Penn Yan won an 14-0 shutout from East Aurora. Irondequoit used a very strong third quarter to win an 11-6 game against Orchard Park, whose four year winning streak against Section Five ended.

from Feuerstein). The teams traded goals twice before the Bulldogs took the
lead for the first time at 2:39 when sophomore middie Matt Stringer scored on
a drive from behind the cage. The Panthers tied the game at seven just before
half-time when Dave DeRaddo hit Boncaro on an inside feed.
The Panthers started off the third quarter with six unanswered goals to take
a 13-7 lead.
John Warner scored with an outside shot at 9:26, Bonney also scored on an outside
shot less than a minute later. Boncaro passed to Gringeri on the crease at
7:48 and Warner hit Gringeri on the crease. Bonney scored again on a drive
to the right at 4:20 and Love scored (assisted by Bonney) before Hamburg's
