Quarter final Games - Class B
 -  Geneva, McQuaid Jesuit and Eastridge, each the high seeds will advance to the Class B semi finals at Waterloo next Tuesday (May 29th). The Victor Brighton game will be decided on Friday (May 25th).
     
red dot special Eastridge only led the game for 9 min 16 seconds, but in the end a 4-0 fourth quarter took Eastridge to the semifinals with an 11-9 victory over Aquinas.
  
Eastridge opened up the scoring at 10:05 with Kevin Mahler scoring (assisted by Alex Austin). Austin led all players with 3g-4a. Aquinas scored the next three goals to take a 3-1 lead into the second quarter. Eastridge scored the first and last goals of the second quarter, but Aquinas scored three in between. Brandon Moynihan scored a game leading five goals for the Lancers. Aquinas led 6-3 at the half.
  
The third quarter was a battle as the Lancers tried to fight back but the Little Irish kept them at bay. The two teams scored back and forth and at the end of the quarter the Lancers had made up one goal, but the Little Irish still held the lead 7-9.
  
The fourth quarter was all the Lancers. The Lancers scored the only four goals, the out shot the Little Irish 9-4, outshoot on cage 5-1, won ground balls 20-9, and held Aquinas to 30% clears (60% themselves). The tying goal was scored by Matt Driffill (assisted by Austin). The goal for the lead, their first lead since the first goal of the game, was scored by Todd Horne (assisted by Austin).
  
Some overall interesting numbers for both teams: Eastridge shooting 44s/27on/11g (7 assisted goals), Aquinas shooting 30s/14on/9g (4 assisted goals), Jon Champion had six one-on-one takes for the Lancers (10 for the team), Alex Gray had three one-on-one takes for the Little Irish (10 for the team), 14 LOBs for Eastridge (among 9 players), 18 LOBs for Aquinas (among 6 players), Aquinas cleared 18/32 (56%), Eastridge cleared 18/30 (60%), Adam Sisson led ground balls for Eastridge with 8 (56 total), Austin Gorman led with 7 for Aquinas (39 total).
  
Only six players took shots for Eastridge Mahler 3s/2on/1g, Matt Driffill 8s/4on/1g, Moynihan 15s/12on/5g, Shane Driffill 2s, Austin 12s/5on/3g and Horne 4s/4on/1g. Aquinas' shooting was all over the board with 10 different players taking shots.mcq-hfl-1
  
Senior Alan Antinarelli was crucial to keeping Aquinas in the lead for three quarter. Antinarelli finished his high school career with a 16s/11ga (59%) game, which included many key saves. Eugene Ferrera recorded 5s/9ga for the Lancers. The Lancers move on to play McQuaid Jesuit in the semifinals next Tuesday at Waterloo.
  
Scoring for Eastridge were Austin (3g-4a), Moynihan (5g), Mahler (1g-2a), Matt Driffill (1g-1a) and Horne (1g).
  
Scoring for Aquinas were Gorman (3g-1a), Nick Berkompas (3g-1a), Anthony Bianchi (2g-1a), Alex Gray (1g) and Michael Gray (1a).

red dot Although the McQuaid Jesuit started off slowly, they used strong second and third quarters to defeat HFL in the Class B Quarterfinals, 12-7.
  
The Cougars opened up the scoring with the only two goals of the first quarter (6:10 and 0:18). Both goals were scored by Zach Whyte and assisted by Mickey Allan. Allan, a freshman, was only pulled up to varsity two days ago and led the Cougars with 1g-3a. mcq-hfl-2
  
McQuaid Jesuit stepped up their game scoring four in the second and six in the third while limiting HFL to one and two. Leading the charge for the Knights was senior midfielder Evan Gallina who finished the game with 5g. Both teams tacked on two goals in the fourth quarter.
  
The Cougars also started freshman Jay Tallon (another pull-up from JV) in the cage. Tallon finished the game with 10s/5ga (66%). Senior Pat Roache also played in the cage recording 2s/7ga. For the Knights, Dan Caufield played the entire game with 10s/7ga (59%). The Knights move on to the semifinals and will play against Eastridge at Waterloo on Tuesday.
  
Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit were Evan Gallina (5g), Mitch Ritchie (2g-2a), Jeff MacDonald (2g-1a), Bill Napoli (2g), Nick Caton (1g), Dan Sturnick (1a) and Eric Wright (1a).

Scoring for HF-L were Mickey Allan (1g-3a), Zach Whyte (2g-1a), J.R. O'Flynn (2g), Matt Garvey (1g), Jason Camilo (1g) and Kal Dachtler (1a) mcq-hlf-3
  
red dot Geneva won an 18-1 victory over the Reds, scoring 4g in the first quarter, eight in the second and four in the third quarter before Newark scored their lone goal in the last quarter.
  
Scoring for the Panthers were Alex Love (4g-2a), Greg Bonney (1g-4a), Kyle Boncaro (2g-2a), RJ Gringeri (3g), John Warner (2g), Chris Tapscott (2g), Willie Rago (1g-2a), Eric Legott (1g-1a), Jim Warner (1g) and Matt Augustine (1g) while Eric Peterson, Andy Torreulla and Bobby Martin each added one assist. Matt Schutz had 3s/0ga and Kyle Brimm made 3s/1ga for Geneva (15-4) who will face the winner of the Victor/Brighton game in the semi final round.
  
Scoring for Newark were Eric Stivers (1g) and Stephen Johnson (1a). Ben Hartman made 8s/18ga for the Reds who finish their season at 8-11.
