May 4, 2007 - All three games were mismatches on Friday. Aquinas, Canandaigua and McQuaid Jesuit all had victories.
Canandaigua took an 8-1 first quarter
lead, added five more before the half and ended up the 15-3 winner in their
game with visiting Midlakes.
Scoring for the Braves were
Jeremy Brown (3g), Andrew Knoblauch (1g-1a), John Klein (1g), AJ Groot
(2g-1a), Charlie Sauter (1g-2a), Justin Tomzak (3g-2a),
Connor Henderson (1a), Jordan Manzer (2g-1a), Brian Scheetz (1g-1a)
and Austin Rogers (1g). Scott Bement played the first 17 minutes and
gave up 1 goal while making 6 saves for Canandaigua (11-1).
Scoring for Midlakes were Nick Newland (2g), Glen Stevenson (1g), while
Clay Hemminger and Tyler Brooks-Lambert each added 1a. Jared Schoonerman
had 9s/15ga for the Eagles (4-7).
Eight different players scored for McQuaid Jesuit on
their way to a 14-5 victory over visiting St. Joseph's (Section 6).
The Knights had a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and led 9-2 at the half.
Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit were JD Ayer (1g-2a), Mitch Ritchie (6g), Jeff MacDonald
(2g-1a), Evan Gallina (1g-2a), Nick Caton (1g), Dan Sturnick (1g-1a),
Tom Carpenter (1a), Corey Flanigan (1g-1a) and junior middie Ryan Dacey
who scored his first Varsity goal. Dan Caufield recorded 7s/3ga (70%)
and Harry Goluses made 4s/2ga (67%) for McQuaid Jesuit (9-4).
Scoring for St. Joe's were Wrzack (2g), Deuz (1g), Steinwald (1g), Rossi
(1a), and (1g). St. Joe's goalie had 8s/14ga (36%) for the Marauders
(4-4).
Aquinas was a 14-5 winner in a GRALL game at
Bath.
Scoring for Bath were Brad Fuerst (1g-2a), John Pruyn (1a), Nick Venuti
(2g), Mike Joint (1a) and Dave Harris (2g). Chris Wolfer had 17s/14ga
