April 19, 2007 - Although a number of games were cancelled or moved, seven games were played on home fields in unusual
bright sunshine and warm weather.
Victor
scored the first two goals, led 6-2 at the half on their way to their
victory over visiting Palmyra-Macedon 13-4.
Scoring for Victor were attackmen
Andy Savage (3g-3a), Frank Valenti (4g-1a) and Ethan Payne (3g), and
midfielders Eric Willman (1g-1a), Steve Hearn (1g-1a), Jason Houtenbrink
(2a), Josh Sahr (1g) and Ben Osterling (1a). Cody Bennett 2s/2ga (50%)
and Mitchell Liegerot 6s/2g (75%) each played for half the game for
the Blue Devils (3-3)
Scoring
for Pal-Mac were attackmen Cody Clement (2g) and Steve VanDeWalle (1g)
and midfielders Jeremy Norsen (1g) and Mike Christ (2a). Jonathon Reeve
recorded 16s/13ga (55%).
After
building a ten goal lead at the half, Gates Chili was
the 15-0 winner over the visiting Greece Lightning in their MC3 divisional
game.
Scoring for the Spartans were Andy
Hilton (5g-1a), Tommy Elkins (3g-4a), Alik Miller (2g-1a), Jeff Fichtner
(2g), Brad Weber (1g-2a), Tyler Webb (1g), Mike Greene (1g-2a) and Jake
Johnson (2a). Sophomore goalie Jason Baetzhold made 10s in the shutout.for
Gates Chili (2-2). No goalie report from Arc/Oly.
Brockport defeated
Spencerport at Brockport High School today 8-3. Spencerport began the
scoring just 0:14 seconds into the game with an unassisted goal by senior
midfielder Jeff Konko. At the end of the first quarter Spencerport held
a 2-1 lead.
The second and third quarters were all Brockport as they
led 2-0 in the second and 3-0 in the third. Eight different players
scored the eight different goals for the Blue Devils. One significant
goal was the first goal of the third quarter when Brockport freshman
defenseman John Pacitto intercepted a pass on the defensive end
and then ran the ball up himself for the shot and the goal with
11:22 remaining.
Both Spencerport and Brockport scored two man-up goals (one of Spencerport's
was two men-up).
Scoring for Brockport in the attack were Adam Naureth
(1g-2a), Andrew Willis (1g-1a), Tucker English (1g) and Justin Klymochko
(1g), in the midfield Jacob Burns (1g), Sean Bittner (1g) and Tyler
Sutphen (1g), and in the defense John Pacitto (1g) and Will Glynn
(1a). Junior goalie Connor Mykins played the majority of the game
and recorded 4s/3ga (57%), the last two minutes were played by John
Duthoy 1s.
Scoring for Spencerport were Jeff Konko (1g), Phillip
Schmid (1g), Luciano Petrella (1g) and Patrick Decker (1a). Junior
goalie Mike Palvino played the majority of the game and recorded
11s/8ga (58%). Brad O'Keefe played the last two minutes but failed
to record any stats.
Greece
Athena/Odyssey defeated Batavia 9-2.
Scoring for Greece Ath/Ody
were Jeremy Fitzgerald (3g-1a), Nate Wallenhorst (3g-1a), Phil Rodriguez
(2g-2a), Joe Prestigiacomo (3a), and Nick Ryan (1g). No goalie was
reported for Thunder (1-3).
Scoring for Batavia were Will Mulcahy
(1g-1a) and Chip Chapman (1g-1a). Matt Landried recorded 16s/9ga
(64%) for the Blue Devils (0-5).
Waterloo defeated
Bath 13-4. Goalie play was strong for both teams. Waterloo split
time between junior Shawn Andrus 8s/3ga (72%) and sophomore Zach
Bowen 5s/1ga (83%). Chris Wolfer played the entire game for Bath
recording 14s/13ga (52%).
Scoring for Waterloo were Josh Mateo (2g-4a), Mike Ruiz IV (3g-1a),
Peter Vacca (1g-3a), Curtis Brosius (3g), Jeff Wadhams (2g), Dylan
Chilson (1g), Tim Parish (1g), and Jordon Cook (1a). Waterloo improves
to 2-5.
Scoring for Bath (0-4) were Durham McKenzie (1g), Bryant Madigan
(1g), Nick Venuti (1g), Sam Musso (1g) and Andy Nesbitt (1a). Chris
Wolfer made 20s/13ga (61%).
Thomas led
6-4 at the half on their way to a 12-6 win over Hilton today.
Scoring for Hilton were juniors Jay Clifford (3g), Colin Walker
(1g-1a) and James Moss (1a) and seniors Jeff DeLong (2a), Alex Wood
(1g) and Kyle Hayward (1g) as well as sophomore Steve Bernsten (1a).
Senior goaltender Aaron Donahey finished the game with 12s/12ga
(50%). No report from Thomas.
McQuaid Jesuit took
the lead in the first quarter, by a 3-1 margin on their way to a 13-9 win over
host, Timon / St. Jude (Buffalo).
It was 6-2 for the Knights at the half, but Timon returned after
the halftime break and scored four to bring the score to within
one (7-6) to start the final quarter.
The Tigers tied the game at eight and then took the lead at 7:04
before Mitch Richie's goal tied the game at nine. Evan Gallina scored
two more for the Knights in man up play to give McQuaid Jesuit the lead
to good. Twelve of McQuaid Jesuit's goals were assisted.
Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit were Evan Gallina (5g-2a), Mitch Ritchie (3g-2a),
Dan Sturnick (3g-2a), JD Ayer (1g-1a) and Tom Carpenter (1g) while
Bill Napoli, Jeff MacDonald and Corey Flanigan each added ann assist.
Dan Caufield had 14s/9ga (61%) for the Knights (6-2)
