April 7, 2007 - Cold weather and a few snow showers made for uncomfortable sidelines and fans at Waterloo, where
the only two games in the Section were played today.
Geneva defeated
HFL 12-6 in one of two games at Waterloo today.. The game was close in the
first quarter, but a number of transitional goals allowed Geneva to pull ahead
and they never looked back. Geneva controlled the ball, out shooting the Cougars 40-14 as well as the
ground ball game (61-29).
Scoring for Geneva were RJ Gringeri (2g-3a), Greg Bonney (4g), Kyle
Boncaro (2g-1a), John Warner (2g), Jimmy Warner (2g), and Tyler
Travis (1a). In the cage, Adam Schutz recorded 4s/6ga (40%). Kyle Brimm
came in for the last minute and had 1s.
Scoring for HFL were Zach Whyte (3g), Cade Norris (2g), Ian Griffin
(1g), Kal Dachtler (1a). Pat Roache recorded 13s/12ga (52%). No report
from HFL.
Tully (Section
3) defeated Waterloo 16-5. Scoring for Waterloo were Peter Vacca (1g-1a), Nelson Boyd (2g-1a), Josh Mateo (1g-2a), and
Curtis Brosius (1g). In the cage for Waterloo were Shawn Andrus 15s/12ga
(56%) and Zach Bowen 2s/4ga (33%). Joey French led the Black Knights with
5g.
