Monday: Thomas & Irondequoit Win |
April 24, 2006 - Two games were played
today. Webster Thomas made up their game
with Eastridge and Irondequoit played a
cross over game with Arcadia/Olympia.
Webster
Thomas played their game
with the Eastridge today. The game was cancelled
on a stormy night last week. Thomas was
the victor in the 15-3 game. Score
only from Thomas. No report from Eastridge.
Irondequoit
was the 19-3 winner over host Arcadia/Olympia
as the Eagles took a 9-1 first quarter and
extended their lead to 14-1 at the half.
The game was played
under overcast skies and drizzle during
the second half. Greece showed their persistence
in playing a tough third quarter and never
gave up. Irondequoit was pleased with the
contributions of a number of players who
scored their first varsity points of their
careers. Coach Van Etten especially noted
senior football and wrestling standout Anthony
Larosa who is playing lacrosse this year
for the first time and scored one goal and
added an assist.
Other scoring for Irondequoit for the first
time were Michael Eagan (2g-1a), Andrew
Blend (1g), Brad Williams (1g-1a) and Dan
Hershelman (1g). Other players leading the
effort were Greg Wright 2g-5a), Andrew Hart
2g-4a) and Todd Laemlein (3g-1a).
Scoring for the Lightning were Mark Calcagno,
Frank Slapar and Rob Werner. No
report from Greece. |
