Monday: Two Overtime Losses |
April 18, 2006 - Two vacation week games
were played on Monday and both were lost
in overtime for the teams who ventured out
of the area for games.
It
was Pebble Hill of Section
3 over Mynderse in a 16-15 overtime thriller
in Manlius. Last week, when Pebble Hill
visited the Blue Devils, Mynderse was the
winner, but this time the win went the otherway.
Pebble Hill's Zach Schutz (3g-2a) tied the
game with 0:01 left in regulation. Scott
Merhan (4g-3a) scored the game winner with
1:05 left in overtime.
Scoring for Mynderse were Josh Kurdziolek
(4g-2a), Sean McGrimley (3g-2a), Kevin McCully
(4g), Dustin Luckinbill (3g), Chris Damato(1g),
while Pete Hawyrschuk, Jon
Young and Tim Sweeting each added an assist.
Zac Rescorl had 8 saves for Mynderse (2-5).
In
another overtime game, It was host Corning
West (Section 4) with the 8-7 win
against Victor. Corning West came back from
a two-goal fourth-quarter deficit to tie
the score with 4:00 remaining when Jay Stearns
scored for CW. Mike Tammaro then won the
game at the 2:57 mark in the overtime period.
Scoring for Cornign West were Mike Tammaro
(1g-3a), Jay Stearns (2g), Steve Little
(1g-1a) while Austin Rose, Craig Smith and
Adam Lewis each added a goal. West goalie
Mario Trizzino has 21 saves.
Scoring for Victor were Eric Willman (1g-3a),
Erick Rogemoser (2g), Andy Savage (2g),
Frank Valenti (1g-1a), Jason Houtenbrink
(1g), Alex Rogemoser (1a) and Matt Astolfi
(1g). Mitchell Liegerot recorded 10 saves
for the Blue Devils (4-5).
