March 31, 2006 - Two games were played out
of the Section Friday, and the Pittsford
was the 12-3 winner in a rain soaked game
at host Sweet Home (Section 6).
 Pittsford
travelled to Sweet Home (Section 6) to play
the Class A team also known as the Panthers.
Ten different players scored for the Pittsford
, led by senior midfielders Mike Peacock
and JJ Postel who each scored 2g-1a for
Pittsford who will face Rush-Henrietta on
Saturday (3:30 at Nazareth College).
It
was Cortland over McQuaid Jesuit in a 12-9 game
played at SUNY Cortland. Each team scored
two goals in the first quarter. Cortland
opened it up in the second secord scoring
five goals including 2 in the last minute
of the half while holding the Knights to
two goals. Both teams scored two goals in
the third quarter and three goals in the
last.
Scoring for Cortland were Junior middie
Joel White (6g-1a), junior midfielders Benford
(3g), Bishop (2g-1a) and Leonard (1g) and
sophomore attackman Jack Spallone (1a).
Junior goalie Zack Zayac made 5 saves for
the Purple Tigers.
Scoring for McQuiad were sophomore attackmen
Mitch Ritchie (3g-2a) and Jeff MacDonald
(1g), senior attackmen Marty Farchione (1g-1a)
and Mark Hanna (1g-1a), junioro midfielder
Evan Gallina (2g) and senior midfielders
Nick Cardillo (1a), and Sean Conroy (1g).
Senior Pat Maguire (18s/12ga) and sophomore
Dan Caufield (2s/0ga) split time in the
goal for the Knights (1-2). |
