Monday: Last Day (Almost)
 -  Pittsford beat R-H today and will host Thomas on Tuesday, but the rest of the teams in Section Five are now finished with the regular season. Penfield dodged the bullet again today with a one goal win at Fairport and completed their regular season undefeated. Canandaigua finished with a win taking them to 16-1 with their only loss to Baldwinsville. Brighton finished with a win over Gates Chili and lost only to HF-L (twice) to end their season at 14-2. HF-L finished with a win over Hilton and lost only to Schroeder this season.
  
Like many great lacrosse games, the Penfield victory over Fairport was dominated by great defense by both teams starting with the goalies. As good as Fairport's Geoff Mayor was, Penfield's Brian Dell was even better, making almost uncountable point blank saves at dramatic times. His efforts were more appreciated as his defensive unit protecting him keep the Raider shooters outside for most of the game and kept their best dodgers from getting many shots. Luke Prattico and John Butt had a number of key take aways and Evander Wilson added a number of key clears.
  
Penfield scored the lone goal in the first quarter when Trevor Rice score at 8:07 on a feed from Mike Thon.
  
The Patriots went up 2-0 at the start of the second quarter when Kelly McKenna scored an unassisted goal at 10:47. After more than seven minutes of defense, Fairport scored on an blazing outside shot by Tom Rynn after receiving a crossing pass from Chris Lindner at 2:46. Penfield came right back with a drive from behind the cage resulting in an unassisted goal by Jason Knerr at 2:07. The half ended with Penfield up 3-1.
  
The Patriots started in man up in the third on a carry over penalty and made good use of it, scoring at 11:50 (Mike Thon from Rice). A goal at 9:16 by Rice (assisted by Knerr) would be the last goal of the game by Penfield. The Raiders finished the quarter on a high note scoring in man up at 1:53 when Ryan Lowe scored (unassisted). The quarter ended with the Patriots up 5-2.
  
Dramatic defense was the name of the game in the last quarter as the goalies and their defensemen kept the ball out of the net for more than eight minutes. The Red Raiders brought their fans to their feet at 3:45 when Mike Danylyshyn scored on a pass from Pat Reilly to bring Fairport within two. Penfield won the face off but lost the ball resulting in an unassisted goal by Lowe at 1:07 to bring the score to 5-4. Although Fairport was able to get eventually get the ball to their offensive end, a last second shot went off the pipe and Penfield finished their perfect record season.
  
By the end of the game Trevor Rice had scored 2g-1a, Jason Knerr and Mike Thon added 1g-1a and Kelly McKenna added 1g. Thon won 11 of 12 face offs and Dell ended the game with 16 saves for Penfield (16-0).
  
Scoring for Fairport were Ryan Lowe, with Mike Danylyshyn and Tom Rynn each adding one goal and Chris Lindner adding an assist for the Red Raiders (11-5).
  
Brad Gurbacki helped Churchville-Chili secure a 9-6 win over the Greece Thunder with his 5g. Ryan Grogan scored 2g-1a, Cory Mee added 1g-1a and Jaime Englert added 1g while Kyle VanAernum and Devin Jessop each added an assist for the Saints. Evan Williams had 12 saves for C-C.
  
Greece saw scoring from Matthew Machucki (2g-2a), Dave Rodriguez (1g-2a), Joe Hallowell (2g) and Jeremy Fitzgerald (1g). Orlando Villegas made 14 saves for the Thunder.
    
Pittsford was a 16-3 winner over visiting Rush-Henrietta on Monday afternoon at Mendon. Mike Peacock led the Panthers with 4g-1a while Jake Boyce scored 3g-1a and Dylan Bittlingmaier added 2 assists for Pittsford.   
  
Schroeder won the cross-town match up as they took a 4-2 first quarter and 8-5 half to a 16-7 final at Webster Thomas. The Warriors dominated the face offs as Mike Catalino won 11 of 14 and John Pawluk won 9 of 10. Thomas was successful in man up scoring five goals on 9 opportunities.
  
Jack Mooney led the Schroeder offense with 4g-2a. Chris Ferry (4g), Tom Costanza (2g-3a) and Grant Catalino (2g-2a) also were key to the offense. Jay Wilmes added 2g-1a while Mike Catalino scored 1g-1a and John Pawluk added 1g. Steve Hollis and
Chris Nicodemi each had an assist for the Warriors.
  
Honeoye Falls-Lima used nine different players and saw assists on 86% of their goals as they beat visiting Hilton 18-5. Mike Cintineo led the offense with 7g-3a while Jeff Price added 2g-6a. David Uzialko and Andrew Santiago each added 3g and Zane Witzel added 1g-1a. Kevin Garvey and Kal Dacthler each scored 1g while John Cintineo recorded 3a and Cade Norris 2a for the Cougars. Mike Brisbane (1 save) and Will Fargo (3 saves) split the goal tending duties.
  
Scoring for Hilton were Mitch Ritchie (3g-1a) while Mike Crumlish Kyle Hayward each had a goal and James Moss and Jay Clifford each added an assist. Sophomore goalie Aaron Donahey had 16 saves for the Cadets.
  
Penn Yan was down 9-6 in the last quarter but scored 5 unanswered goals and beat t fired-up Panthers, 11-9 at Geneva. Jon Van Houten led the Mustang effort with 5g-1a. Dan Mesler scored 1g-2a, Steven Carlson scored 2g and Michael Manley scored 1g-1a while Dan McGuffie contributed 2g and Mark Kratochvil 1a for Penn Yan. RJ Wickham made 11 saves for the Mustangs.
