Monday: Pal-Mac, Aquinas, Pittsford Win |
May 9, 2005 - Sunny weather was order of the day for three games on
Monday. Pal-Mac was the 12-9 winner over Newark, Aquinas
won 16-11 in GRALL play and Pittsford was the victor over
Hilton 11-6.
After taking a 2-1 first quarter lead to a 7-4 half time
score, Pal-Mac finished with a 12-9 win
over Newark. Newark had a late rally in the last quarter,
scoring five goals. Raider Coach Enzo Falso had positive
comments about the Newark players, "Their goalie
played an outstanding game. He stopped several point blank
shots. My hat goes off to the Newark players...they never
gave up."
Scoring for Pal-Mac were Jaimie Sinopoli (2g-1a), Owen
Campbell (3g), Matt Christ (1g-4a), David Bennett (4g-1a)
and Matt Walker (2g). Ben Dlugosh had 10 saves for the
Raiders (7-8).
Scoring for Newark were Jason Johnson (2g-1a), Dan Mizro
(2g), Alex Quku (1g-1a), Kyle Burm (2g-1a), and Luke Walden
(2g-1a). Anthony Cole recorded 13 saves for the Reds (2-13).
No report from Newark.
Livonia finished up it’s league schedule Monday
night against host Aquinas. The Bulldogs
were defeated once again by the Little Irish 16 -11. Livonia’s
league record stands at 2-4 with all four losses coming
t the hands of McQuaid Jesuit and Aquinas.
The first quarter was an offensive free for all. Aquinas
finishing the quarter with a slim one goal lead, 5-4.
Dave Schmandt had two goals and an assist during the quarter
and Pat King had the first of his five goals for Aquinas.
Adam Schaible, Shawn Wright, Scott Mosher, and Josh Hendrickson
each scored goals for Livonia.
Mark Pincelli and King had goals extending the Aquinas
lead to two goals in the second quarter. Hendrickson kept
the Bulldogs close with his second goal of the game.
A slashing foul on Aquinas gave possession to the Bulldogs
at the start of the second half. The man up team did it’s
job to bring Livonia within one on a goal by Shawn Wright.
That is as close as Livonia would come. The Bulldogs had
several defensive lapses in the third quarter allowing
7 Aquinas goals. “We just didn’t come out
and play aggressive defense on the ball and our slides
were late,” noted Coach Sciera. Aquinas middie Pat
King had 3 of Aquinas’ 3rd quarter goals.
The defense stiffened up again for Livonia in the last
quarter but it was too little too late for the Bulldogs.
Zach Berger came in the game in the third quarter in relief
of Aaron Jamison in the goal. Jamison had 9 saves, Berger
made 7 in the game. Jason LaShomb had 15 saves for Aquinas.
Scoring for Aquinas were King (5g), Schmandt (3g-1a) while
Pincelli, Pat Eyre, and Steve Rolland each had 2g for
the Little Irish (10-7).
Scoring for Livonia were Hendrickson (3g-1a), Chad Britton
(2g-2a) while Shawn Wright and John Dalberth each had2g.
Brian Sciera had 2a, Scot Mosher had 1g-1a, and Adam Schaible
had a goal for the Bulldogs (6-8). No
