Saturday: Down to One Undefeated Team
 -  There were 8 games played on Saturday. HF-L's undefeated season ended at the hands of Schroeder, Fairport ended the week with three wins with their win over Corning East and Penfield remains the only Section Five team still undefeated with their win over Oswego.

It was expected that the Schroeder / HFL game would be a good one, but the Warriors certainly were the only people who might have expected a 17-2 win over the previously undefeated Cougars. Last week, Schroeder won a 9-3 victory over previously undefeated Hamburg and nearly had a come-back win against Fairport.

Senior defensemen Mark Liberti, Matt Crandall and Jeremy Appell and sophomore defenseman Drew Palmer were instrumental in holding the high scoring HF-L offense to 9 shots on goal. Junior goalie Dennis Costanza (5 saves) - allowed only goal in his three quarters in the cage. Senior goalie Andy Peter finished the game for Webster with 2 saves.

Scoring for Schroeder were Grant Catalino (7g-1a), Tom Costanza (2g-4a), Jack Mooney (2g), Chris Ferry (2g-2a) and Mike Catalino (1g). Pal-Mac was the winner over Mynderse on Saturday, 10-7 after coming back from a 0-2 first quarter and 4-5 half. The Raiders scored 4 unanswered goals in the third and traded goals in the last quarter. Face offs and ground ball production helped P-M gain the offensive ball time. "[Senior goalie] Ben Dlugosh had another stellar day. He stopped several point blank shots, which really sparked our team," commented Pal-Mac Coach Enzo Falso.

Scoring for Pal-Mac were Owen Campbell (2g-2a), Matt Christ (5a), Dave Bennett (4g 1a), Matt Walker (3g-1a), Jaimie Sinopoli (1g) and Ryan Buckley (1a). Dlugosh ended the game with 17 saves for the Raiders (5-8).

Side note: Timon has been playing quite a schedule this season. They started the year with games with two strong Maryland teams (McDonogh and Boys Latin), added a game with West Genesee, played Canandaigua today and will play a strong team from Ohio (Western Reserve Academy) next week.

On a rain soaked day the Thomas Titans won a 14 -7 game over Eastridge who jumped to a 3 –0 start with goals by Sean Sawyer, Kevin Kimber and R.J. Pixley. Webster Thomas then went on to score six goals in the second quarter to take a 6-4 lead at the half.

There is certainly a rivalry developing in the second year of the GRALL between Livonia and Bath. Saturday's game allowed each team to feel control for part of the game. Bath started the game with a five goal lead including 3 by attackman Ryan Finney, but a 4 goal streak in the second half by Livonia give them then win 15-11.

Junior attackman Scott Mosher sparked the Bulldog offensive in the second quarter as he scored Livonia’s first four goals of the game. Coach John Sciera noted that a key for the bulldogs was pushing the ball to the goal in unsettled situations. “Scott did a very good job of dodging to the goal on our fast and slow breaks. By the time the second quarter had ended the bulldogs had battled back to within two goals of the Rams.

Although Bath started off the second half with two goals, taking a 9-5 lead, Livonia exploded with ten goals for the win while holding the Rams to two.
