Thursday: Full Swing - Seven Games
 -  There was lots of action in Section Five today as seven games were played on the last day of March. Victor had a one goal win over visiting Pal-Mac as senior attackman Cory Benulis scored the game winner with 3:59 left. Pal-Mac dominated the first half with ball control and patience. Victor stayed in the game with defensive performances by sophomore Tim Gallahan and senior middie Tim Rose.

After a tied 3-3 first quarter Pal-Mac took the halftime lead 6-4. Victor came back strong in the second half out shooting the Raiders 18-4. At the end of the third quarter the teams were tied at six.

Scoring for Victor were senior attackmen Corey Benulis (3g) and Mike O'Hare (2g) and sophomore middie Eric Willman (2g). Senior goalie Matt Schmelzen recorded 9 saves for the Blue Devils in the season opener.

Scoring for Pal-Mac were senior attackmen Owen Campbell (2g-1a), Matt Christ (3g) and Jamie Sinopoli (2g) along with senior midfielder Matt Walker (2g). Seniors Josh Polle and Mike Beck played very well defensively for Pal-Mac, and Ben Dlugosh (15s) was outstanding in the goal late in the game. Said Coach Falso, "Our kids played a great game in all offensively and defensively. We just had a couple of mental break downs defensively and gave up some easy goals. But overall I've very proud of these guys. I couldn't of asked for a better performance."

Greece won their first game of the year with a 12-5 win over the visiting Bulldogs from Livonia. Scoring for the winners in attack were senior Joe Hallowell (1g-5a), sophomore Matthew Machucki (4g-1a) and junior Dave Rodrigues (4g-1a). In the midfield, senior Mike Kemp (3g-1a) and sophomore Jeremy Fitzgerald (1a) added to the score. Senior defenseman Cody List added an assist and picked up 10 gbs while new senior goalie Orlando Villegas made 17 saves for the Thunder (1-1).

Livonia saw was led by junior middie Chadd Britton (1g-2a). Junior goalie Aaron Jamison recorded 13 saves for Livonia (0-1).
  
Host Waterloo beat Newark 15-3 behind the scoring of senior middies Jason Johnson (3g-1a), T.J. Radka (3g) and Gordy Lahr (2g-1a) and sophomore middie Josh Mateo (3g). Senior goalie Pat DeBolt recorded 6 saves for Waterloo (1-0). Newark had 2g from junior attackman Dan Mizro while junior goalie Anthony Cole made 10 saves for Newark (0-2).
  
Mynderse was the winner in a 7-2 game over Midlakes as senior attackmen Chris Warrick scored 3g-1a. Senior middies Tim Ellis (1g) and Troy Gothem (1g-1a) were joined by sophomore middie Kevin McCully (1g) and Ben LaVally (1g) for Mynderse (2-1). Junior goalie Nick Tiaskkun made 4 saves for Mynderse.

Senior attackman Dom Valerio scored 1g and junior attackman Chris Ledgerwood scored 1g-1a and junior goalie Brendan Hennessy made 27 saves for the Screaming Eagles in their first Varsity level game.
  
Lafayette of Section 3 was the winner over Penn Yan 12-5 in a game played at 8:00 pm at Hobart College. The first quarter was close with Lafayette up 1-0 at the end of the quarter, but defensive errors allowed the Lancers to take a 6-1 lead at the half. The third quarter was split (1-1) and Lafayette took the final quarter 5-3 before taking the long ride home.

Scoring for Penn Yan was sophomore middie Dan Wolfe (2g), and single goals by junior middies Steven Carlson and Dan Mesler and sophomore middie Chris Carlson while senior attackman John Van Houten added 1g-1a. Sophomore goalie RJ Wickham recorded 9 saves for the Mustangs.
  
Lafayette saw goals from Tyler Hill (4g), Jerome Thompson (3g-2a) and Tyler Gale (3g). Lancer goalie Pat Dwyer made 17 saves.
  
 Junior midfielder Ryan Lowe was the high scorer for Fairport in their Monroe County League win over Webster Schroeder 10-5 at Fairport's Minerva Deland School. The game was close in the first half with Fairport taking a one goal lead, but the Red Raiders opened it up in the third quarter and never looked back.
  
Junior attackman Pat Reilly added 2g-1a, sophomore middie, James Danylyshyn scored 2g-2a and senior midfielder Chris Lindner scored 3a for the Red Raiders (2-0). Sophomore midfielder Tom Rynn (1g-1a and 8 gbs), and attackmen Anthony DiMarsico and Peter Burkhardtt each added 1g. Junior goalie Geoff Mayor had 11 saves for Fairport.
  
Schroeder saw goals from sophomore attackman Grant Catalino and senior attackman Jack Mooney who each scored twice for the Warriors (1-1).. Adding to the score were senior attackman Tom Costanza (2a) and junior attackman Jay Wilmes (1g). Junior middie John Pawluk led the ground ball effort for Schroeder with 6 and junior goalie Dennis Costanza recorded 7 saves.
  
It was HFL over Gates Chili 15-1 as senior attackmen Mike Cintinelo scored 6g-5a and Jeff Price added 2g-3a for the Cougars. Also scoring for HFL (2-0) were senior middie David Uzialko (3g), junior defenseman Connor Burgasser (1g-1a) and senior attackman Zane Witzel (1g-2a). Junior midfielder Lucien Perrezult scored for Gates Chili (0-2).
