It was the second game in as many days for Mynderse, and
this time they won as the The Blue Devils beat host Newark
13-11. Although Newark tied the game at 11 at the 2:45 mark
with a goal by junior midfielder Luke Walton with an assist
from senior attackman Jason Johnson. Sophomore attackman
Josh Kurdziolek scored and unassisted goal at 1:44 and senior
attackman Chris Warrick added the final goal with an assist
from senior middie Tim Ellis at 0:43.
Leading Mynderse were Warrick (5g), Kurdziolek (3g), and
Ellis (2g-2a). Also adding to the score were senior middie
Troy Gothem (1g-2a), sophomore middie Kevin McCully (1g-1a)
and junior attackman Sean McGrimley (1g). Junior goalie
Nick Tiaskkun recorded 8 saves for Mynderse (1-1). Sophomore
middie Kevin McCully won 18 of 26 face offs for the Blue
Devils.
Newark's goals came from Walton (2g), Jason Johnson (1g-2a),
junior attackman Nate Johnson (2g), junior middie Greg MacBride
(2a), junior attackman Dan Mizro (1g-1a), junior middie
Alex Quku (3g) and senior middie Kyle Burm (2g-1a). Junior
goalie Anthony Cole made 18 saves for the Reds (0-1). No
report from Newark.
At Irondequoit, senior midfielder Sean Doyle scored five
goals for the Eagles, while junior attackman Joe Parker
and senior midfielder Cory Bottiglier added 3g each for
the Eagles in their 16-9 win over the visiting Titans. Junior
middie Jake Schindler won 8 of 10 face offs and senior goalie
Dylan Crary made 7 saves for Irondequoit (1-1).
Sophomore attackman Dom Scalzo scored 3g-3a and junior attackman
Kevin Kemp added 3g for Thomas (0-1). Junior goalie Steve
Hondorf made 18 saves. No reports
from Irondequoit or Thomas.
