Thursday: Thomas Beats Pittsford in Overtime
 - 
In a game that see-sawed back and forth, Thomas scored the winning goal in overtime to defeat Pittsford 12-11. On the other end of town Penfield defeated Schroeder by a goal in the last minute of the game. Mynderse won a high scoring game against Livonia (17-14) and Avon beat Marcus Whitman 13-9. Other winners were Gananda, Aquinas, Spencerport, Wayne, Bloomfield-Honeoye, Victor, Gates Chili, Fairport and Canandaigua. Hilton beat Rush-henrietta 15-2 but they will play again in the Class A out bracket on Saturday.

--  SPORTSFIVE REPORT: Penfield scored the game winning goal with 0:16 remaining on the clock to defeat Webster Schroeder 7-6. Matthew Schoeneck scored his second goal of the night to take the lead. The Warriors, who had trailed since halfway through the third quarter, forced the tie with 1:18 left on the clock. Penfield scored the opening goal of the game. Peter Schwab scored unassisted with 8:09 remaining in the first quarter.

Schroeder came back and scored three back to back goals to take a 3-1 lead into the second quarter. Matthew Montgomery scored two and Conor Bollin added the third. Penfield spent much of the next quarter tying the score. They scored their first at 9:32 (Brandon Buse unassisted) and the tying goal at 4:16 (Kevin Wall from Hunter Savitcheff). The Warriors took the lead again with the final goal of the half from Jared Griffin. The Warriors led 4-3 at the half.

Penfield scored the first goal of the second half to tie the game, and although the Warriors tied the game again later, the Patriots never trailed after their goal. They scored the first three of the half, and the only goals of the third quarter. Wall, Schoeneck and Savitcheff scored for Penfield. As noted above, Schroeder fought back to a tie in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to secure the win or force overtime. In the cage for Penfield, Kaden Boardway finished with 7 saves. For the Warriors, Antonio Deleo recorded 12 saves.

--  SPORTSFIVE REPORT: In a game at that was back and forth for a half and will be repeated in the first round of Class C Sectionals on Monday, Mynderse pulled away in the second half to defeat Livonia 17-14. The Blue Devils scored five unanswered goals to end the second quarter and start the fourth. They took a 12-8 lead with 8:20 remaining in the third quarter and Livonia never caught up. The Bulldogs scored the final three goals to pull the score closer in the final six minutes. In the cage for Mynderse, Noah Goodall finished with 12 saves. --  SPORTSFIVE REPORT: Aquinas fought back from an early deficit to defeat Bath 9-6. The Little Irish were trailing well into the second quarter, before they fought back and took a two goal lead late in the fourth quarter. The Little Irish finish their season at 14-2 with their two losses coming in their opening game against Irondequoit (8-7) and against nationally ranked Victor 10-3.

Bath scored the first three goals of the game to take an early lead. Tyler Finch, Michael Rice and Ethan Harold scored for the Rams. The Ram defense also held Aquinas scoreless for the first 12:44. Aquinas took the field after the first quarter and played a strong second quarter. They scored the first four goals and held Bath scoreless for six minutes. In those six minutes, they scored four goals to take a one goal lead (4-3). Bath tied the game before the end of the half with a goal from Connor DiDomineck.

Bath took the lead in the third quarter with an unassisted goal from Finch. Six minutes later, Aquinas tied the game for the third time at 5-5 with an unassisted goal of their own from Casey Hochheimer. The fourth quarter and therefore the game belonged to Aquinas. They scored four goals and held Bath to only one. Evan Kelly scored all four goals for the Little Irish with only the first being assisted (by Hochheimer). Patrick Brewer scored the lone goal for the Rams.

--  SPORTSFIVE REPORT: Webster Thomas finished their season with a big overtime win over Pittsford (14-2). The Titans (11-5) scored five goals spanning five minutes to take a two goals lead. Pittsford forced overtime with only 0:26 left in regulation and the Titans secured the win in the sudden victory overtime with Nick Mabe assisting Matt Hill.

The game was close throughout with both teams holding the lead multiple times. Thomas scored the opening goal to take the first lead with Travis Ford assisting Pierce Currie. Pittsford scored two goals of their own to take their first lead three minutes later. Jonathan Perotto and Matt Malone scored for the Panthers. Thomas kept the game close after the first quarter with Currie`s second goal. The first quarter ended with the score tied 2-2.

In the second quarter, the Pittsford defense held Thomas scoreless for the entire 12 minutes. Their offense added two goals to the count to take a 4-2 lead into the half. Thomas came out of halftime and scored three quick goals in 92 seconds to get back on top. Pittsford finished out the third with two more goals, but to take a 6-5 lead after three quarters.

The fourth quarter had the vast majority of the scoring with half the scoring (11/23 goals) scored in the fourth quarter. Pittsford scored two more goals to start the quarter with Perotto scoring his fourth and Colby Barker scoring his second. The Panthers held the largest differential of the game, leading 8-5. Thomas controlled the next five minutes and scored five goals. The Titans took a 10-8 lead with only 4:03 remaining in regulation. Barker scored again to bring the game within one and 45 seconds later, long stick Jared Connors tied the game with another goal.

With 1:38 remaining, Thomas tried to pull away again with Travis Ford scoring unassisted. The game continued back and forth with Pittsford tying the game off a Barker feed to Perotto with 0:26 remaining to force overtime. Perotto and Barker combined for 8 of the 11 goals for Pittsford. Overtime began with Thomas winning the opening face-off. The Titans were unable to capitalize and the Panthers had a shot at the goal. Neither team was able to capitalize and secure the win. With just less than two minutes remaining Pittsford took a time-out with the ball. The Thomas defense forced a take and got the ball into their offensive area. With 1:21 remaining, Hill scored to give Thomas the win.
