May 1,2016 - The Gananda Varsity Boys Lacrosse team has dedicated their home game on Monday, May 2nd to former Coach Mike Pane`s recovery. Pane, a member of the Canandaigua class of 2004, was the first coach at Gananda and took them from a 2-13 record in their inaugural year to 12-6 record in 2012 and 13-4 in 2013.
After beating the disease in 2010, Coach Pane is once again in a battle with brain cancer. The Gananda Boys Lacrosse program will collect donations throughout the game to assist with his medical costs and hold a silent auction to benefit their beloved former coach.
The Boys Lacrosse Boosters will match, up to $500, all money raised for Pane. Gananda faces Mynderse Academy in a Finger Lakes League match-up at 5:00pm on Monday.
Can`t make the game?
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with donations that will assist Mike and his family with the increasing medical costs and travel expenses that he has and will continue to incur as he begins chemotherapy treatments.
