Webster Schroeder Sends Three to College Ball

Schroeder NLI The Webster Schroeder Warriors have three more players who have decided to continue playing lacrosse as they continue their education after graduation in June.

Blake Balcaen has selected Pace University where the senior midfielder will hope to play for third year Head Coach (and Nazareth College graduate) Tom Mariano. Blake will start his third year on the Warrior Varsity with 27g-26a. Last season he added 42gbs while scoring in twelve games. At Pace, he will join Victor alumnus, Chris Saar.

Attackman Jared Griffin will honor his commitment to study and play at Le Moyne College next year. Jared will start his last year at Webster with 39g-12a. The second team (MC-1) pick from last year has played for the SweetLax Lacrosse Club.

After graduation in the spring he will become a Dolphin and will play for Head Coach Dan Sheehan and will join a number of Section Five alumni, including Ryan Cosgrove (Churchville-Chili), Justin Kesselring (Fairport), James Felix (Pittsford), Luke Bartkowski (Victor) and Kacin Welch (Fairport). Future classmates will include Pittsford players Andrew Forte, Will Pieterse and Matt Malone (Pittsford) and Cole Guest (Penfield).

Senior midfielder Matt Montgomery will move on to Ithaca College next fall. He will start his last year at Webster with 19g-18a. Last summer he played in the Orange Crush Showcase where he was named to the All-Star team. Matt will join a number of Section Five Alumni at Ithaca including Justin Bird (Thomas), Jamison Whitfield (Aquinas) and Stephen Morrell (Pal-Mac). Bomber Head Coach, Jeff Long (Irondequoit) is a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and will start his 29th season at Ithaca.
