August 15, 2015 - At the end of each sport season, the NYSPHSAA honors those teams that excel in the classroom. For lacrosse, a team must have at least eleven players who have a 90% average or better during the spring season.
One hundred and sixty-two NYS lacrosse teams were named this spring, with Paul D Schreiber Senior HS (Section 8) taking the highest honors this year with a team average of 95.62. Roughly 400 teams play in New York State with about 40% earning the honor. Section 11 had the best percentage of teams earning the award with 32 of 49 teams (65%). The complete spring list is here.
Victor took third place on the NYS list with an average of 95.15. Nineteen other Section Five teams were award winners (65%). The twenty teams are as follows:
