Four Players Make Top 50 Players for National Team

US Lacrosse Four Section Five players have been selected to join the next round of tryouts for the US National 19 and Under team that will compete in the FIL World Championships in British Columbia this July.

The group, cut from 108 to 50 of some of the best high school players in the country include, from Section Five:

Senior midfielder Kevin Hill - Webster Thomas - Penn State
Senior midfielder Brandon Barker - Pittsford - Ohio State
Senior goalie Willie Klan - Penfield - Ohio State
Junior defenseman/LSM Jared Conners - Pittsford - Virginia

After a grueling test over three days at Stevenson University (Maryland) the boys will now have another tryout from August 7th-9th at Johns Hopkins University (Maryland) and then will be cut to the final team of 23 players. Almost 400 players applied for the spots.

The team will attempt to win their 8th consecutive world title under Head Coach Nick Meyers (Ohio State), with assistants Patrick Myers (Penn), Chuck Ruebling (Delbarton School) and Peter Toner (Penn State).
