May 16, 2015 - The 2015 tournaments have been seeded and the schedules are set. Pittsford (Class A) with a record of 15-1 is the top of Class A. Penfield, Fairport and Rush-Henrietta took positions two, three and four. Fairport and Rush-Henrietta tied and Fairport won in the tie-breaker (with their win head-to-head on Thursday). All eight teams play in Tuesday quarterfinal contests at the home field of the higher seeded team. [ CLASS A BRACKET ]
Victor celebrated their first undefeated regular season with their win at Hilton on Thursday. At 16-0 they are the top seed in Class B where there are thirteen teams that will play this year. Victor along with THOMAS (second) and CHURCHVILLE-CHILI (third) will get byes on Monday and will start their tournament performances on Wednesday. Following the top three are CANANDAIGUA (4th), McQUAID JESUIT (5th) Irondequoit (6th) and Brighton (7th). [ CLASS B BRACKET ]
The top twelve teams will play in the Class C tournament where the top seed is, once again, Penn Yan. Gananda is the second seed and Aquinas is the third. Pal-Mac (4th), Wayne (5th) and Geneva (6th) will be the home teams when the games are played on Monday. Penn Yan has won nineteen Section Five Championships. It is nearly a full week of games. Because Class A has no out-bracket games this year, they will play quarters on Tuesday and semifinals on Friday. Classes B and C will play on Monday and Wednesday and then play the semifinals on Saturday. Championship Day this year is on Wednesday, May 27th at St. John Fisher College. The Champions will return to Fisher on Saturday for the NYS quarterfinals against the Section VI winners and the winners of those games will return to Fisher on the following Wednesday (June 3rd) for the NYS semifinals. The NYS Championships will be at Vestal High School (Section IV) on Saturday, June 6th. |
