Ryan Fairbrother Commits to West Point

Ryan Fairbrother Pittsford senior midfielder Ryan Fairbrother recently announced his commitment to attend and play lacrosse for the United States Military Academy (West Point) as a member of the class 2020. He will prepare for his appointment by attending the USMAPS (West Point Prep) program which starts this summer at West Point.

Ryan has spent two years on the Pittsford Varsity and has been demonstrative as a short stick defensive player. In his junior year he picked up 83 ground balls and had 4 takes. Also in his junior year, he won 124 face offs.

Ryan began to focus of an Army career as early as elementary school. Over the years, he has been a water boy for the team, attended various lacrosse and soccer camps there and has attended the Black Knight 50 two times.

The Army Prep school, located on the grounds at West Point, was established in 1946 as a way to "prepare candidates selected by the United States Military Academy Admission’s office for the academic, physical, and military challenges of the United States Military Academy at West Point."

Ryan expects to play lacrosse at Prep before moving on to play for the Black Knights under Head Coach Joe Alberici. The Prep team plays a rigorous schedule that includes top prep programs like the Hill Academy, Navy Prep and Avon Old Farms as well as Community College programs like Herkimer, Suffolk and Nassau Community Colleges.
